Well I stopped at my local Toyota dealer today to look at the v and to determine if four sets of golf clubs would fit in the back with the seats up. I got our two sets in very easy width wise, and I am sure two more will fit in.
I then talked to a sale rep. (should have known better), and before I realized it (just a figure of speech) I bought a v model 3. I traded my 07 Ford Freestar @$10,500.00 (a very fair price per KBB pricing), and I paid $17,700 OTD. I figured they threw in the mats and the destination charges (approx. $1000.00 per the window price list). So it shows as approx. $1000.00 below MSRP.
I had been calling around to various dealers, and most of them stated their price would be MSPR.
The wife drove it home and said she really likes the seats and the adjustable lumbard support. It seemed to me to be Quieter than my 07 G2 prius, and comfortable in the passengers seat. Only put 30 miles on so no good feel yet for MPG, got 39+ for that 30 miles.

Congratulations! We are, of course, going to want more details as you discover them.

    Congrats.

I guess that there is not a ton of demand if you could walk into a dealer without reserving one and get it so near the release date. My wife considered the v when she bought a new car in August but was told by 2 local dealerships that they had waiting lists and not to expect delivery until early next year.

Are you able to share the Dealer's name? I went to a dealer yesterday, they only give me $300 less than MSRP for a Package V with AT

I also have one in the driveway. I paid list in Minneapolis but I didn't have much leverage as I put a deposit down before the price was known. I have a Two. Interesting fact was that the V isn't in the computer for the accessories but the Prius Plug In is there (must be that the body is the same so the accessories all fit). Toyota has 2 years of free maintenance (oil changes at 10k), and cut $1000 of the 10 yr extended warranty cost (was $24xx). Normally I don't buy them but I might go back for it at that price.

We'd have to ask him if the gage was reset before leaving the dealership. That number may or may not be accurate.

I am sure that number is not accurate, because the car was running in park for at least 20 minutes at the dealers while the salesman was demonstrating the various features such as Nav, entune, etc. And no the gage was not reset after leaving the dealers.
Also I was able to hear what I thought was an unusual noise from the front of the car when i was parking it in my garage. Turns out it must have been the noisemaker the 2012's have been equiped with, At least I read Dianne Whitemore"s thread and interpreted the noise I heard as the same she was referring too.

I drove one this morning, and my impression was that it was quite a bit quieter than my 2010 Prius! More leg room as well. Wish it had been available last year when we replaced our CR-V, this would have been perfect!

I now have approx. 300 miles on my first tank of gas on my Prius v and the mpg on the average mpg display is at 45.7 . This is the result of 1 approx. 100 mile trip, and a few shorter runs of under 30 miles. This is over fairly hilly terrain, with not real aggresive driving, but not hypermileing either. I could not get a calculated MPG because I did not start with a full tank. So far I am impressed with the driveability, ride, and economy of the v. No complaints so far, other than trying to get acquainted with the nav system is not as easy as my Garmin 780 was.

That could have easily happened to me, if the sales guy didn't act like I was bothering him when I asked him to show me their Prius V. He showed me, but he didn't ask me to buy it, so I didn't.

Not surprised. I was ready to drive the v Three that I test drove home. I'm holding out for a Five, though. Very, very impressed with this car.

Just curious. Why are you holding out for the five?
