Okay, I keep an eye on local Toyota Dealers inventories and prices. Even though The Prius v, isn't the vehicle for me, I don't need that size, I have wanted to see it in person. So yesterday I checked a local dealerships online inventory to see if they had any Prius v's listed.

I'm not going to name names, or reveal the dealership, but they had the usual list of Prii, in all 3rd generation trim levels. But then curiously they listed several "Prius c"?

Huh? I thought the Prius c wasn't going to be available until next year? Could it be as I suspect that the dealer is mistaking Prius v for Prius c? Could the dealership be that "stupid"?

    UPDATE:
Nevermind...I checked (after posting this) and the mysterious Prius c's.. are now nowhere to be found. I suspect it's just a lazy dealership, not knowing exactly how to update their inventory, and misnaming Prius v's as something they were calling Prius C's...

Unless I am that stupid, and the Prius c IS available, then it means the dealership doesn't really know the name of the vehicle it is selling.

Okay...Toyota hasn't made it particularly easy..but still? You get a new model in, wouldn't it behoove you to know what it is called before posting it as part of the available inventory?

Either I am confused, and Oregon is part of some magical early availabilty program...or the dealership is confused and has no idea the larger Prius is called the Prius v NOT the Prius c.

    So who's confusethed here?

Prius c (Aqua) is not even out in Japan. I think the dealer is wrong.

Yeah, I know...I should of had a cup of cofee and checked the inventory BEFORE starting this thread.

But I swear it wasn't my imagination. Last Night they had vehicles listed as Prius C...

And yes, I'm sure it was a dealership mistake. But that's a pretty basic mistake. If they are losing track of what is what now? Can you imagine the potential confusion when you have Prius, Plug in Prius, Prius v and Prius c? Dealerships need to get up to speed. Either figure it out...or Toyota sends the Creepy Multi-Person to the Dealership to knock heads together....

To second your "am I crazy" observation, a while back, maybe a month or so, when I would check Autotrader.com, they had "Prius C" listed for quite a bit. It's obviously now "Prius" or "Prius V" but I saw this for many days in a row. I also got excited at first, which quickly gave way to "hm, dodos haven't got their models straight yet." :p

Oh come on Dianne, of course mistakes are permitted. BUT...would that be a mistake you would make? I think not. Really...knowing the name of the new vehicle you are offering is pretty basic.

It's a no harm, no foul mistake...and they quickly removed the mistake from the website...but still? I'm assuming the vehicles arrived with Stickers...and even emblems denoting them as Prius v's....

If Toyota is going to insist on a dance down the alphabet? We need to all make sure we are on the right letter....Otherwise, I insist Toyota hire "The Wiggles" instead of "The Blue Man Group" to do their next advertisment.

Apparently, you have not seen our dealership website.

I don't handle the website anymore (I used to years ago, I'm way too busy now) and even today after my three days of complaints, I still have the wagons being loaded in as Prius FIVE as well as the Prius FIVE package 2011's being shown the same.

I knew this F*-ing name would create problems.

It's the fault of the dealership AND their website's inventory database creator/provider. Most stores use an inventory posting system that draws from their internal system.
