After being a silent spectator on PC up until today, I finally have something to contribute. As the title implies, we just proudly purchased the Prius v 5 w/ AT in Barcelona Red. The color and the premium package's charms (panoramic sun roof and cool techy stuff) definitely won out over the "not too shabby itself" standard Prius v 5 in silver. At first we didn't want to spare the significant extra $$, but after seeing both versions in the flesh, it wasn't a hard decision.

After getting home from the dealer, we installed the carseat and booster seat and picked up our kids. Those adjustable back seats give you enough room to make strapping them (our kids) in pretty easy. They also provide a safe distance from my seat back to my 4 year old's shoes via booster seat. I could go on but it's a been a big day. All in all very impressed so far.

Sweet. I just got a v 5 / ATP this evening, and I'm loving it, if a bit intimidated by the UI...

It's really hard to turn down that moonroof once you see it from the inside. Enjoy!

I love that slick new cupholder in top right dash. Had one to the left of my steering wheel in the 400h and found that perfect for Starbucks Venti!!!

I was referring to the hidden one down by the floor! It's where the hidden drawer was on the Gen 2.

This may sound stupid, but my only complaint (aside from the 15mpg) about my old vehicle was the awful cupholders. It's amazing how important getting that right is.

Yes, there are a "plenty" of cup holders. There's even one on each of the front doors.

Today I got to try the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. I don't believe it's unique to the v, but it really blew me away. Actually the whole v is wonderful. Our other car is an 08 Escape Hybrid and while there's not much to complain about there, you just feel with the v that the upmost thought was put into every detail. For the money, it's got to be by far the most car you can possibly get.

It's a fantastic feature, eh? Wait til you see the PCS seatbelts work for the first time. (Oh and I would get familiar with the PCS system so that it doesn't freak you out the first time it happens...)

The first time "BRAKE!" appeared on the 5" MID (I think yours would be a yellow light instead???), and it beeped, it distracted me and I ended up looking at the screen to see what the beeping was about instead of looking ahead. The car thought I was going to hit the car in front because I was coasting up behind him and he just started off from a red light so the computer sees the difference in speed as huge and sounded the alarm. Once you understand that, you can better evaluate the situation the nxt time it happens.

The PCS seatbelts work above 60km/h if you wanted to test it yourself.

Np. I just saw it open in his interior shot. I thought it was a drawer until July when I drove the v.

I was actually wondering about that. In the manual they show a small switch underneath the steering console that I failed to find on quick inspection. So am I missing something or is PCS something that is just auto-enabled?

That's the PCS Brake OFF switch (even though it's just labelled as PCS OFF). That button disables the automatic braking portion but the other safety items associated with PCS are still there.

PCS is always on. It's using the radar to scan ahead.
