Has anyone succeed in pairing the iPhone with the car. Bluetooth pairing always fails. Pruis 2012 V Model V with entune
No problem here, my iPhone 4S paired perfectly with my v Five w/AT yesterday. I did run into an odd issue this morning showing the car off to a friend, it wasn't able to connect to the iPhone as an iPod via the USB cable. I know it pairs with whatever is there "first" (bluetooth or USB) but it was a little odd. Entune, what learning curve? Pretty straight-forward. Peter+
I've had no problems pairing my iPhone 4 w/iOS 5 to my 3rd gen Prius! Worked seamlessly the first time.
Ohh... then you might want to fix your profile. We've just added "2012 Prius v wagon" to the "My Car" list. Then choose whatever model you have (Two, Three or Five) and the package if any!
I figured out my odd issue -- still don't quite understand it. But if you have a DVD in the disc drive, it won't connect the iphone/ipod via cable, you get "unable to authorize iPod" displayed VERY briefly on the screen. Removing the DVD eliminates the problem. Posting here in case others run into the same problem in coming weeks. Peter+
The learning curve is on the backend trying to learn all the nifty features and options. The front end is super easy and great. I did not get the advance tech package. I wonder why it works with the advance and not the standard. One iPhone we have the car can see it but fails and the other never shows up. Did you pair it from the iPhone to Car or Car to iPhone?
Pairing: 1. Go to the phone setup screen so that the car becomes discoverable 2. On the phone, go to Settings>General>Bluetooth, make sure BT is turned on, your phone is now discoverable as well 3. The two will find each other, the car will generate and deliver a security key to the phone where you will be asked to confirm it with the number displayed on the car screen 4. The phone is now paired and contacts will transfer to the car's phone book in a few seconds. Note that if you want to use the iphone as a bluetooth audio device as well, you'll need to pair it in the bluetooth setup screen as well. (And vice-versa). Older iphones/iOSes support fewer bluetooth profiles and may not support all the features of the v's bluetooth. Peter+
I do not have a phone setup screen. According to the manual I hold a key on the wheel which brings up the Bluetooth setup button then when clicked brings up the bluetooth screen of options. The car when it searches it tries, it gives failed message. When the iPhone searches it fails with an unavailable error.
When the car searches: 1. Is your phone's bluetooth screen (Settings>General>Bluetooth) displayed? 2. Is bluetooth ON? 3. Where (physically) is your phone at the time? Peter+
1. Yes. I even cleared all running task including prefs app 2. Yes 3. Siting in drivers seat. I have held it under radio, steering wheel and on top of the cup holder.
Try this: 1. Go to Settings > General > Bluetooth on your iPhone. Make sure Bluetooth is on. 2. One the Navi, press the Setup button. 3. Press Bluetooth from the list of options. 4. Press the Make This System Discoverable button on the screen. 5. You'll see the car show up on your phone. Select it and accept the connection. 6. Press Accept on the Navi screen.
Fixed! My house gets one bar of CDMA (Verizon) and no GSM service. While I was out today I decided to trying pairing again and it worked! You need cell service to pair the bluetooth. Thanks for all the help everyone.
We just got our Prius V (w/o Navigation) yesterday (we are first-time Prius owners)... in any case, my husband's iPhone 4 OS 5.0 paired magically with the Prius. However, my iPhone 4 OS 5.0 refuses to connect. It keeps saying it's successful, but then it keeps disconnecting & then trying to reconnect. But, every time it tries to reconnect, the display on the Prius restarts, goes out, restarts, etc. Has this happened to anyone? I assume this is an iPhone issue since my husband's phone works fine. Any thoughts?
Yes there is some glitches with entune and ios5. It worked great yesterday and today it would not reconnect or pair.
Have you tried to reset your phone, then attempt to pair it again? Perhaps the phone is in a bad state. What do you mean by "the display on the Prius restarts, goes out, restarts, etc."?
