Say what you want, I love this exhaust. Finally got my TommyK exhaust from Japan through Koyei-USA. It took about 2 months to get, worth the wait. Some hangers were missing but the mechanic who put it in got them locally and it waent quickly. My only complaint is thet there an evacuation chamber on the drivers side and this forces the pipes down lower than the right by about an inch. BTE it fit with the 5 axis rear skirt.

Is any part of the left-hand side actually functional?

Thanks, The exhaust cost $1394 delivered to me from Japan. The installation was only $130. The sound is low growl which is fine for me. I cant really say if there is a performance difference, usually a cat back exhaust gives you 5-8 hp. From 98 to 104 hp is not really a neck snapper. I will say that i feel as if it quicker, but that is probably in my head. I only have it in for a day so i will post after i drive it more.

I'm amazed that you purchased an exhaust system for that price which basically do nothing for the car except ad a bit more noise (not necessarily bad). I'm not judging you as you obviously have the cash flow to afford the thing but wow. :)

  8. Next step, install your Valenti tail lights :) Nice wheels.

It will certainly make the car "his own". And visually, it will be different than just about anyone else's Prius. Short of the Prius shuttlecraft, of course.....

I won't dispute that it is very personalized. I guess I am just a cheap nice person and would have fabricated non-functional dual exhaust tips to simulate the look but without the increased noise. It's very rare to hear a 4cyl non-turbo import car sound good regardless of how much was spent on the exhaust. I've sold hundreds of systems in the past and they all sorta sounded like, well, a drawn out fart or an angry bumblebee.

If you like the sound of it then that is all that matters. :) I'm hoping you can post a sound clip and make a fool out of me though. I'd be happy to eat crow on this one.

I did this as well as the other things for me. I post this here because some people are interested in seeing what others do. The same way I found out about all the possible upgrades. If you like it great, if you dont, great for you. Why you feel the need to give a negative opinion, is a little puzzling.

I think it is great you posted the thread. The negativity is based on other people commenting on my post. Such is the way that threads go. I'm not trying to be overly negative. If it comes across that way then I apologize. I am not against modding your car as you see fit. A great example is the space shuttle Prius or my 17" wheels. Some people think it's stupid and others think it is great.

My comment is based on the price paid. I don't see any reason that I cannot or should not post an opinion that it is way over-priced and that there are other ways to achieve similar results. Then again, there are reasons why some women will spend $600 on a purse instead of $20 on one that is just as functional.

    My apologies.

Not a big fan of the smallish-looking (could just be the picture) tips which look a little out of place. More pix plz?? I'm also curious if there's any weight loss from stock?

Don't be. Valenti will replace any unit that has developed a crack, as it's the result of improper packaging. Just take your time during the installation.

Your car will look 100% better with the new tails, as the stock clear tails look out of place with the mods you have.
