Ordering starts October 5?

Not to say that your dealer is wrong about ordering being available on October 5, but three things suggest that it will not.

1. My dealer has said repeatedly that we will not be hit at the last minute with an announcement
2. Doug Coleman who was until recently with the Prius Team said the same thing on PC
3. The Configurator which shows the final prices for accessories has still not gone active and needs to be active for the order process to work as outlined.

 

Of course, there is another possibility. Since each of the roll out states will have their own quotas (and will not be competing with other states for cars), ordering for states may not begin at the same time. There may be a logic in doing it this way in that the system, including servers, would not be so likely to be overloaded.

But who knows?

I couldn't find any prices indicated for port-installed accessories. Is that what you meant, and if so, where did you find them?

Order date is NOT October 5th.
I can't explain why your local dealership's sending that but they are really off base.

I think we should start a POOL!

I'll create a PAYPAL account and everyone pick date/time between 10/5 and 11/15

and whoever wants to play, send $5 to PAYPAL account.
The person who picks the closest to the date/time gets all the money in the account!

I won't play because even though I have no idea when the order window opens, you all THINK I do and if I did guess right, I'd be thought an insider. I'll just play POOLMEISTER!
