    Hello,

I just took possesion of my 2011 Gen, 3 trim 3, yesterday which was ordered on August 27th. I thought it would never get here!:)

I found this site many weeks ago and have read up on alot of things while waiting for the car to arrive. Now I feel more informed about the many features that I will experience in weeks to come.

My first experiences in driving it home were how sensitive the brakes are compared to my Corolla that I traded in. When I approached the first light after leaving the dealership I about went thru the windshield! I made that adjsutment real quick!

Also, I love the upgraded radio/system it's a very noticeable improvement from the standard Toyota radio system and the XM radio is fun to listen to..

Another really neat thing I found out was when I parked in the garage and turned out the lights and found there is a very small round light in the ceiling between the two overhead map lights I guess you call them that illminates the gearshift knob when the rest of the car is dark - that is so cool. I just waited a few seconds before I got out of the car and just stared at it.

I'm looking forward to seeing how good of gas milelage I can get. I've been reading in this forum how many times people have gotten over the 51 MPG the Prius is rated for.

Well it's almost daylight and I can't wait to drive to work!

In reference to your brakes, they should only take at 8 mph or less. So if you want to slow down for a light, simply take your foot off the gas pedal and the car immediately slows down. Should you require more stringent braking, you can then go to brake position, which slows the car down even more. Both positions = regeneration. I actually use the brakes on the car only for holding, while waiting for a light. Have fun with your new Prius!

ROTF! I did that too. I stepped on the brake and the whole car did one of those comical WHOMPH! with the salesguy and me lurching forward and flopping back into our seats.

Have fun with your new car! My first few days with the car I didnt even really pay attention to the mileage bc I was too busy concentrating on driving but even with that, I was getting easily 50. 3rd week in, I think I can get 65mpg sometimes, and my average is much higher as well. I can hardly wait to update my Fuelly to see what I got. (If you dont have Fuelly yet, you should register now so you can see what mileage you are getting. Its FUN!)
