Just went through the entire thread again. Having both the HV battery and the transaxle fail at such low mileages does seem very unlikely and makes me wonder if it was misdiagnosed by the dealer.

Did you find a different dealer to check out the HV battery problem last year after the transaxle replacement?

Did you experience the HV battery losing charge during the winter or only when it's warm?

I agree calling Toyota to ask for help is a good idea. Good luck!

We've been paying a lot closer attention to the battery charge, and it is only when hot. We live in Austin and this has been a terrible summer with one month being the hottest month of any state ever. So, while the symptoms are similar to when the HV battaries failed the first time it is different an it is induced by the heat. Running the A/C compounds the issue.

I am going to take it to a different dealer for the next service. Maybe earlier if I can find the time.

Agreed w/all of the above. I find transaxle and HV battery at such an early mileage and age EXTREMELY unlikely. It sure sounds like a misdiagnosis to me.

Given the high temps of the OP's area, it's pretty likely the 12 volt needs to be changed too, as ursle is suggesting. If it's bad/low, it could be the source of plenty of weirdness.

Having worked at a Honda motorcycle dealership, I can tell you that any major warranty work will require both a) authorization from the manufacturer and b) extensive testing procedures as outline by the manufacturer before said authorization of repairs or new parts are installed.

Usually an area service rep (well known by the dealer), is called in to personally OK big repairs.
