Thanks for weighting in. A lot of people still think a hybrid needs to be plugged in so I think we need something more descriptive.

Hmm, thanks for pointing that out. I agree with you on the initial demand outstripping supply. After the initial wave is done, if Toyota thinks sales of the PHV are too slow, they could introduce a decontented model.
Yeah, I've heard it a bunch but was surprised to hear that in the Toyota test drive line at GDE. Obviously, that guy had never owned a hybrid.

Agree, I suspect Toyota will offer a basic Prius II plug-in model when they launch nationally.

All the plugin information read out are available in the MID. There is no need for Entune with LCD screen.

BTW, the new 16 shades MID screen is awesome.

My understanding is Entune is for Bing, Pandora, etc...

Does the new 16 shades MID means in English that it is a higher resolution MID screen?

If so, that would be great, because I watched a Prius video car review where the guy said the graphic details of the Prius screen reminded him of the old computer Commodore 64.

Comparing the new MID to the MID in my 2010 I can see much more detail. Things seem to have depth now and are not as blocky.

I'd much rather be tethered to my solar panels than to the middle east.

It seems all cars are tethered.

BS. This is as non-judgemental as the "clean air act".

The basic pop culture that this term is trying to take advantage of is that "cordless" is better than corded. Like the cordless phones, which carried a premium over corded ones (probably still do, if you can find a corded one).

A cordless appliance has a battery that is charged using grid power. Then it operates as long as the battery lasts. Like Nissan Leaf. Hummer & Prius are not "cordless".

    There are no corded cars.

Unless you provide a suggestion, that's just an empty complaint.

What simple identifier label would be more informative?

What I find objectionable about EVNOW's position regarding the use of "cordless" is that he has some kind of upset about the use of the term which he is trying to force upon the rest of us. Popular usage will settle the issue without debate. I think that is your point, John.

EVnow is a fan(atic), like most of Volt crowd. He sees the world in black and white. EV criticism is wrong by definition in his world, as is anything not critical of the non-EV.

Well, EVNow is from MNL, and owns a Leaf.

Ideally, if EVs had enough range, they would work for everybody, but currently we need to compromise, as no ideal / utopian solution exists.

As Ed Begley Jr says, "EV's won't work for everyone, only %90 of us"

    Are we arguing about semantics?

Does anybody object to calling a computer accessory a mouse?

Does anybody like the word Infotainment?

I remember back in college when it was not cool for an educated person to use the word "cool" as it was not considered by some to be proper. Now, even the Queen is probably using the word.

:D, uncorded?, this brand new word may be an alternative to those who do not like cordless.

    Cordless, uncorded,
    Taste great, less filling!

Yup. Throw the idea out there. See if it sticks. Something else will emerge if it doesn't fulfill the purpose.

We should have a vote. Toyota should set up something like the plural of Prius.
