Started Friday night at 7pm and finished today at 2pm.

Thank to F8L and usbseawolf2000's detailed instruction, I finished the whole retrofit without running into any trouble.

Hard plastic back cover closed perfectly without any modding.

55W ballast were installed. Hope my mini projectors can take the heat.

Shrouds painted to red/black since I'm not crazy about the chrome

Finally the projector was installed. Almosted melted my headlight.
Oven size DOES MATTER! mine is 27, and it is a bit too small.
    30 is the perfect size.

outer shell painted flat black and lens back on

    Headlight check, bumper check.

Haven't got a chance to take an output shot at night. This photo was taken during the day.

I was thinking about putting LED angel eyes on the shrouds, but gave up this this thought at last since I already have a pair of very bright DRL, and another set maybe too much.
I did order some T10 LED angel eyes from superbrightleds. They are gorgeous when fired up. I do recommend the T10 to those thinking of doing the retro with angel eyes.

Looks great! I'm glad to hear that the plastic cover fit back on. This is the hard plastic cover that comes with oem HID headlights right? If so i'll update my thread so others go with the H1 instead of D2S.

Wait till you drive around tonight. Especially on back roads or the freeway. You'll outshine everything else on the road. :)

Great news! I'll update my thread soon to include this news and I'll let the guys at TRS know. Now I can get started on wick1ert's retro for his Harley.

Now get us some nightime shots.

I know the wood fence was a bad idea of showing cut off line. I will do better next time.

My headlights were aimed real high. I think it was due to using the H1 adapter which was not suited for my headlight housing.

During my test drive, I put a S2000 to the absolute shame. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. I've never seen the FXR output in person, maybe it is brighter and wider, but this mini is more than enough for me. At least for now :)

The output is sooo much better than the oem HIDs! I bet you're loving it!

You have to be fairly close to the wall to get a good side wall shot.

I would say at least 40% gain on output.

But I could see the cut off line with naked eyes, just wasnt able to capture it with camera.
I will try a closer distance on a stucco wall next time.

And yes color temp is 6000k but the 55w ballast made it look like 5000k

I may consider switching to a 5000k because my 55w ballast makes my 4300k bulbs look pretty yellow.

5000k is def the best choice with 55w. I have 5000k and 55w set up in my other car and the reflection from the road is blinding me.

Right, but 55w ballast will lower the k, so my 6000k turns out to be 5000k paired with 55w ballast.
And I need a slightly bluish output to match my LED DRL :p

For ease of install I think I'm going to return the FX-Rs and get the new H1 mini. The only reason I didn't get them in the first place is I thought they wouldn't fit. Thanks for testing this out to ensure the covers fit.
