    '05 NAV set-up

I went thru all the NAV menus and deleted the previous owners routes.
    He/she was from Colorado
    I'm in SoCal.
So I changed my area to US2.

Driving and zooming out all I get is a route shown from DENVER and the surrounding area.

Can't seem to get the NAV to just show me where I AM...

    What's up?

Just got this 2005 with NAV. I live in SoCal.
I've deleted all the previous owners addresses and routes and assigned my CA home address as the 'home'.
    Got that, good...

But still, looking at the screen, I zoom out and it still shows I'm in Denver area...
In other words, if I set home or any place else as a destination, it shows I'm driving from Denver ...

    I'm stumped. :(

When putting in a destination - you may have to hit replace. That replaces the old route. Try that.

The NAV is broken down by Zones, chances are it's still set to the Zone for Denver. Check the NAV Manual, this can be changed through the set-up screens, check and make sure it's set to the proper Zone. If it is, and it still shows you in Denver, I'd take it to the dealer and have them figure it out, being as it's a 2011, you're under warranty!

...whoa, that went right over my head...it's an '05.
I've set the proper zone, I believe it's US2. I think Colorado may be part of it as a coincidenece.

Unfortunately I don't have the NAV manual....

When you put in a NEW Destination do you get the miles to that destination shown on screen?

Not sure about if I get miles too, but it still only shows current location is Colorado...
We tried deleting users, but the 'delete' button is grayed out.
I'm stumped, don't get this at all.
Anyone know where to get a manual?

Since you have a 2011, take it to a dealer as a warranty item.

Ok, well a TON of that sounds strange.

Besides an extremely faulty unit, I think that your GPS has a destination set in Denver.

What "could" be happening is your GPS wants to take you to a destination in Dever and once you get there it wants to take you to your next location. If it's doing this you have two options:
    1. drive to Denver and then drive to your next location
    2. figure out how to remove that destination point from Denver

Personally, I think number 1 sounds more fun!

You should fix your profile to reflect that. Right now, it says you have a 2011.

You should be able to get PDFs of the nav manual at http://www.toyota.com/owners/apps/manuals/navigation-manuals-search.do?search=true#.

What if you press the voice button on the steering wheel and say delete destination? Whenever you press the Map button, it should center you on your current location.

Fixed, and thanks for bringing that to my attention. Hope I got it right
    '05 with NAV/Bluetooth, not sure if it's considered a 'V'...

Anyhow, I'm not able to delete the destination addresses in Colorado, nor does the disc eject.
I managed to get to the 'secret screen' and attempted to reset whatever was there, but no change.
Thanks so much for the manual link!!! At least now I have something to go on...

I am not sure about the 2005 but with the 2010 there is a selection where you can delete Personal Data. It shows going to Setup -> General -> Delete Personal Data. The following data is deleted:

     Delete personal data

The following personal data can be deleted
or returned to their default settings:
     Maintenance conditions
     Maintenance information “off†setting
     Address book
     Areas to avoid
     Previous points
     Route trace
     Phonebook data
     Call history data
     Speed dial data
     Voice tag data
     Bluetooth phone data
     Phone volume setting
     Details phone setting
This function is available only when the vehicle
    is not moving.

Maybe this will work for the 2005 also.

Well I managed to get the map to somehow make the current position be where I am now real time SoCal.
    Happy about that.
But this morning I turn it on and it's got me going down a freeway in Los Angeles while I'm actually un the upper desert...what a POS.

The Nav disk that you are using may be a POS. I would recommend trying to get another disk or even an updated disk and try that.

My Nav, and many others on here, works very well.
