What kind/brand of conversion are you considering?
If you are considering Enginer, the closest installer seems to be in Ottawa.
See Enginer's installer page for more info. http://www.enginer.us/installers/

If you drive 100 miles a day or so, you'll probably want a 10kwh system, unless you have many hours each day where the car is not being driven to charge it up again (like a normal worker who can plug it while they sleep at home and while they work at work)

How many hours a day is the car in use? 10kwh systems take 6-10 hours to charge so most likely the taxi can only accept one full charge per day, or less.

Just uneducated 2 cents, and assuming you only recharge overnight: the longer your daily driving, the less the battery will help, and the more you will be carrying the deadweight of the extra batteries. You could do a spreadsheet to compare with/without, but with a battery range of say 20km, and daily driving 150 km, I don't know that you would ever recoup the expense. And the added complexity, possible problems?

Although he's in London, I believe GrumpyCabbie has an Enginer conversion. You may want to PM him to get his experience/suggestions.
