^Those cars look nothing alike and I agree with F8L, too much wheel gap for a car supposedly with springs.

No--in person you could tell the car was a bit lower than my car, which was a few feet away, so the shipping blocks were removed. This is what it looks like before the blocks are removed (see the large gap over the front tire for example):

I was underwhelmed because for $4K, the car didn't look much different (aside from the wheels, and I like the wheels on my car more). The body kit was a yawn. So now you're paying $4K for what? A sway bar? Plus you don't get the more responsive steering, LED headlights & fogs I have on my V (unless you get it on a V).

What's the difference in steering feel from a Five to a Two? Are the Five LED headlights a noticeable lighting difference like brighter or just for lower current draw?

It didn't look much different from a stock II? Yeah, right. If you were comparing to your V, you were comparing apple and orange. It's not just look but handling. HID and fogs can be added at nominal cost.

I can understand that but like 32colors stated, comparing the plus package to the V isn't practical. The Ve has great options but you could purchase a Prius II with package and save a bunch of money and still look great, like the V does. :)

The other option is to just go aftermarket and save even more but we've discussed the pros and cons of that route.

The great thing about the geniii is you can slap a plug & play HID kit in the factory projectors with decent results. They won't be as good as the LEDs but you don't have to spend $10K for them.

The wheels really remind me of the F-sport for Lexus. Toyota should make a F-Prius. Future Prius. Or is that a tautology?

I'm not sure where this $10K is coming from. When I got mine, the difference between the V and II was ~$5K, and that included a lot more than LED headlights (17" wheels, leather seats, JBL w/ CD changer, BT, auto dimming Homelink mirror, etc.).

So to get a Two with Plus pkg costs an additional $3,700. And my V was $5K more than a II, and I got a bunch of additional options that had much greater value to me than the Plus package. Your view may be different.

    1. Regarding cost & value, see my response to F8L above.

    2. The car I saw (was black as you can see in the pix posted), aside from the wheels (which I didn't like), didn't look much different--and certainly not for the money involved. Have you seen one in person?

    3. Regarding handling, I'm actually pleasantly surprised with the handling of my Prius--recognizing what kind of car it is (and isn't).

You're right. I was comparing msrp on the II and the optioned out V which I see people buying for $35K.

Sure, just hit up DDM tuning for a cheap set of HIDs or The Retrofit Source for higher quality ballasts and especially bulbs. Unlike us Genii guys, you have factory projectors. I had to retrofit mine.

The sway bar and wheels will transform the ride and brighter headlights are very useful. I love driving at night with my HID projectors. The beam is very wide such that I can light up the guardrails on either side of a 4 lane freeway. Even the BMWs that pass me cannot do that. :)

Hence my earlier point that a Two with the PLUS package looks exactly the same (except for extremely minor cosmetic differences) as a Five with ATP and PLUS package. Same looking car, 10K price difference.

thought i would share some pics of my new Prius II Plus. We fell in love right aftr we saw it, the car looks cleaner and I really like the stance it has with the lower springs and the new wheels. The wheels make such a huge difference.

I saw this show a few weeks back...the episode was devoted entirely to taking the components of the PLUS package (down to floormats and rear emblem) and installing them on a "basic" Prius. Sure makes me think that Toyota made the parts available on a DIY "car guy" show for a reason (promote aftermarket sales to existing owners) moreso than to sell new cars equipped this way.

Does anyone know if we can buy the Prius plus 17" wheels by themselves and how much they typically cost?
