This is standard for the polling industry.1000 random people polled gives something like 3% accuracy.
Don't like it, then you don't believe in polling as a concept.
This is much more accurate than the absurd "97% of climate scientists believe in AGW".Then it turns out to be 77 people. That poll was pure BS for multiple reasons.

    Interesting poll.
I'm relieved that I'm actually in the majority. You CAGW doomers are a tiny minority. But from posting on this site I would have guessed that I was one of the few sane people in the world.

Just because one is in "the majority" doesn't mean you are right!

So true .Especially in science.Like those who had a scientific concensus on blood letting, and the Earth being the center of the Universe, and CAGW.

You call yourself a 'scientist.' Now you chicken out in substantiating the claim.

Why am I not surprised ?

Of those polled. What do you think the poll what reveal if it required the person to have a minimal science background ? By background I mean a minimum of two years in math and physics at a University level.

it's so interesting that anyone with a different opinion is designated troll.

maybe the 69% have been getting both sides of the story and simply find one more plausible than the other.

one thing is certain: hating people that disagree with you is not the right way to win them over.

Or maybe one side of the story has been so artfully manipulated by those with deep pockets and much to lose if we actually do something constructive to solve the problem that they may find it "more plausible" because the level of misinformation is more pervasive (persuasive too)!

I love how the "maybe" word being thrown around.. kinda reminds me a gag from comedy show.. "Maybe driving school". The protagonist is faced with series of very funny but unlikely what-if scenarios (aliens, car bomb, suicidal grandpa, etc) whilst attending first driving lesson.

Truth is our believing mind is genetically pre-wired to believe in "conspiracy" theories. That's why propaganda is so effective.

Mojo is still troubled by a survey (of 75 climate scientists) not being a poll ;)

Clearly, the people in society with IQs over 150 are just not very useful, since they are only a fraction of a percent of a percent of the population. :)

    Sorry Tony,
4000 BC per the Bible and 2000 AD (just counting), so were the dinosaurs here later than Adam and Eve?

I remember seeing some christian scientist arguing that under some conditions sediments may accumulate at much higher rate, so the dinosaurs could not have lived more then 6,000 years ago.

For all we know there hadn't been any Ice Ages b/c last one was 11,000 years ago. There evidence isn't any evidence genetic or otherwise that people migrated out of Africa, or we ever lived in stone age since it happened 60,000 years ago.

It is all hoax and scientists falsified it. 100% people who read the book must know it, but for some reason only 69% of them actually did it.

God created dinosaurs on the 4th and 5th day, and before man. So yes there were dinosaurs before Adam and Eve. Depending on if you take "days" to really correspond to longer time, they could have been around for millions of years before. The fossile record is incomplete but have dinasaurs gone by the time god made man:boink::humble:

Math and science isn't cool, so obviously it is wrong and useless.

I would say even 2 years of math and physics at a university level is not good enough. You can take basic algebra in university as well as algebra based physics lab classes where you drop eggs off of buildings and shoot tennis balls out of a launcher... I would say minimum level being intermediary calculus and a few semesters of calculus based general physics. I would add to that at least a basic discrete math course where logical proofs are taught.

I often wondered where deniers get their data. I just found out:

    pure BS.

Only in America has Global Warming been politicized.

We have the largest population of neanderthals in the civilized world--people who are ignorant of science.

oh please. that's not even true. it's been politicized elsewhere too, and let's not pretend that everyone else in the world is in lock-step with the preachings of global warmers. there's a lot of bad science out there. global warming is no different than any other lobby. they politicized it in order to gain some political power with it.

Someone seems unable to distinguish between scientists and leaders of certain religions.
