Hi Y'all Hubby bought me a 2010 GenIII, Pkg IV Blizzard White Prius last July for my birthday. What a guy! Two weeks ago on July 4th a F-250 Pickup truck ended up in my lane and hit me head on. My precious Prius is history but I walked (albiet stiffly and with bruises) away. Front and knee airbags deployed, crumple zone crumpled on cue, and the engine dropped down and under. The truck was totaled and the driver airlifted away. Yesterday I picked up a 2011 metallic sand GenIII, Pk 3 Prius (all I could find within a 150 mile radius). I couldn't imagine not replacing it. Good gas mileage, overall performance and TOPS for safety! Happy I found this forum to learn and share my enthusiasm for this great vehicle.
I'm glad to hear you're OK. I know what it's like to have a car totaled (head on, other driver) before you were done with it. Sorry to hear about the loss of your Prius, but it sounds like it gave its all! Welcome to PriusChat.
Amazing, head on with a truck (C250?, F250?) and you walk away. Congrats on your new Prius! May you have a long happy and safe relationship with this one.
My coworkers are rethinking their "bigger is better" philosophy. They all have SUVs and trucks. This IS Mississippi after all! For the record I am not from Mississippi. Born and raised in San Diego. .
I suspect their are no native Mississippian Prius owners. They are born thinking F-150 and car are synonyms.
welcome to PC. Thank you for sharing this story. I am happy that you survived (with just bruises!). Cars can be replaced.
Holy cow. You managed to total an F-250? lol. I'll be honest, I'm very surprised (in a good way) how "lightly" damaged the Prius looks. I thought F-250s were pretty big and would've just run right up the hood. Glad to hear that you're ok. Thanks for sharing your story (and photo) and :welcome: to PriusChat! Congrats on your new Prius!
Wow.. That's probably one of the worst damaged prii I've seen (although, not bad). Glad you walked away from this. I don't see myself driving anything other than a Prius for a looong time. By the way, welcome to the forum!
OP: I'm glad you walked away and are fine. If you haven't get yourself checked out for hidden injuries. Posts like these make me glad I picked the Prius for our family car. Wife and kids spend most of the time in "Wllamehnia".
