Save fuel, the savings over our old car pay the significant majority of our lease payment, actually.

If you drive a prius in my home town you can blend in pretty well, they are common on our roads. We have had smug alerts in our area for almost a century :p!

For those who voted for reasons being green: [ame="http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/155193/thanks"]Thanks! (Season 10, Episode 2) - Video Clips - South Park Studios[/ame]

In which case you should rewrite your poll. It isn't at all what it asks. There is a giant difference between being 'green' and wanting to show the world you are 'green'. Anything you try to conclude from this survey is hopelessly tainted by your inappropriate question.

I tried to explain that his poll was fatally flawed, his response seemed to be that it was designed to be fatally flawed to insure he got the response he wanted, not the truth. I think it is a "fox news" thing.

None of the above. Reasonable quality and options for the price. This is an econobox with low road noise (#1 issue for me), which kept me away from Honda. This is basic transportation. Period. When you buy anything, you look for value for your money.

If this wasn't a 2nd car, used around town by my bride, it wouldn't be in the garage.

It hauls two adults, three grandkids, and has good storage. The quality was better than the competition. Having said that, if it wasn't for the center console, we would be driving a Fusion….

A less biased version of his question I could have answered:

    1) I purchased a Hybrid primarily to achieve personal economic goals. For example: I thought I would save gas money, I thought my family would spend less on maintenance, etc.

    2) I purchased a Hybrid primarily to achieve non economic goals (I thought I would pollute less, I thought I would alter others opinion of me, etc.) or economic goals that were not personally enriching (I thought I would lower the Balance of Trade, I thought I would pay less to oil companies to reduce their power, etc.)

You didn't include the option I would have selected: I like the noises it makes.

Fatally flawed ??? LOL !!! That's funny !!! We're talking about an internet poll .... not a scientific theorem about nuclear reactors ...

116 people relied to this horribly fatally flawed poll ... it was designed to be fun .... not to PROVE anything ... give it a break ... what TRUTH could you possibly be referring to ? How could there even be a TRUTH with regard to a poll that people could choose to participate in or not ?

Fox News ?? How do you go from an internet poll that you may disagree with the choices given .... to a television show ??? What totally twisted logic. Now we get down to the nitty gritty .... I'm guessing you're a left wing liberal ... who's liberal as long as everybody agrees with you.

Make up your own un-fatally flawed poll.

Which would be fine if you weren't using the results to try to prove things in other threads.

You guys are way too serious .... can anybody 'prove' anything on an internet forum ? If you think you can ... your sense of self-importance needs some serious adjustment ....

It was just a poll ... sorry now that I posted it. You win ... please see if you can get the thread deleted.

If you think FOX is the only one who intentionally misleads, the govt has you right in their crosshairs. ;) Sorry if you're offended, F8L, but I am just responding to subtle political jabs. I despise all of the MSM, but most here seem to think only Fox is guilty of tainting the truth (the whole "fair and balanced" nonstarter needs to go...I would much prefer the truth, Fawks).

It wasn't F8L .... with the political jabs .... at least not that I saw.

I'm not offended. I'm just trying to keeps this from turning into FHoP. :) P.S. The government and the media is corrupt. Nine Inch Nails sang it best in "head like a hole".

^That takes it back...some things never change and entropy is all but assured.
Correct, that was just carry-on from another thread where he requested that I tone it down. He was calm about it, though. I just wanted to explain why some may feel compelled to speak up about perceived (as even you did) political jabs.

Cool side view looks really futeristic
    Zero road TAX (UK)
I get 0.16p per mile from my employer which means to break even I need to get 35mpg (UK) Prius does at least 50-58MPG so no brainer.
Cheaper on the company car scheme.
Telephone / Sat Nav / HardDisk music system works great.
    Quiet
Utility, I can fit 2 x Mountain bikes in the back (wheels off)

    That enough :)

Rev, I was not trying to 'win' but to improve your polls.

    If your next poll is

    1) is the Moon purple with pink polka dots

    or

    2) Is JimboPalmer way too self important?

you will again get a 92% vote for my being self important as that choice is not provably wrong, while the other choice is wrong for everyone. (but is the only way to vote against)

If you wish to help inform folks of your position here on Prius Chat you are most welcome. (Fred's House of Politics is available) If you intend to "have fun" with Prius owners, it is called trolling and is frowned upon.

Stop man, the way it is is good.

If you say that Fox is bad and CNN is good or reverse and you don't see that both are controlled from behind than you don't know what you are talking about.

    So let the people vote.

I won't bother reading these 10 pages so I don't know how we arrived here, but this is true.
