    In Australia, amongst young people the Prius has a very bad name, it's for 'fags, pussies and chicks', it's rather annoying. As Seamaster said, haters gonna hate...

    Have you been hiding in a cave? The media (movies) are puposely portraying this car as a gay or whimpy person's car. Did you see the Other Guys? How about Jeff Dunham? The Prius is quickly becoming the Pacer or Yugo in the movie industry. There is nothing for me to get over. I am keeping the car because I like it. I was simply asking people, when I started this post, if they noticed this. I am not bashing gay people or whimpy people and I'm glad the thread didn't go in that directin. It just seems to me that the country likes their gas guzzling SUVs and big cars and when a car, that actually makes sense, comes along they have to distort facts and put a negative label on it. I like SUVs and trucks too but for commuting 80 plus miles a day this car made sense. It is intereresting to see how many posts seem to be defensive responses. I have always considered the people on this website to be well informed and smart enough to see the positive side of the car but this may be a trend we can't prevent.

    Yes you are. You say it is getting a reputation as being a gay car. Your title however say BAD reputation. The logic is clear; you equate gay with bad.

    But really the point is that it isn't getting a reputation as a gay car. No one is going out and asking the sexual orientation of Prius drivers. They are looking for a way to ridicule an obviously good idea, which they are too small... minded to accept.

    If by a "gay" car, they mean that the Prius makes its owners happy and gay, that they are spending much less on fuel, than so be it.
    If they mean that the car has a sexual preference, I don't know how a car can have a sexual preference.

    I beg to differ. A Prius will get you treehugging hippie chicks, by the dozens. They generally are more thoughtful, and smarter than the classic Barbie doll chick. When one remembers that the brain is the most erotic organ of the human body, I would rather attract a woman with a mind than one with no brain, and simply a nice looking body.

    Let's put this to an end now. Last night while I was doing some work on Wilhimena, the Orca Whale Prius, I asked her where she stands on the Prius as a straight/gay car. She told me that she is not a lesbian Orca car, is above those silly labels and will eat the next person who calls her gay.

    Is it just my old aging eyes or is that a picture of our Prius floating on air? I ran to my car and pushed all the buttons, EV, ECO & PWR... but where is the HC (hovercraft) button?? :confused:

    If I recall the video that shot was captured from...and of course I don't have a link to it :(, they had just run the car over a hill at 'high speed' and managed to get it airborne. I think (is that an apt description of what I'm doing?), that they do that to most of their test cars. You know how they try to drive, don't you?

    You got me searching the internets for videos of our Prius flying above ground. I found one going airborne via YT video at around 8:19 & 8:58 , just baby air...lolz
