So, I know we're all fuel conscious in out every day driving, but we all like to have fun too right? Now when I'm not in my Prius(which I'm hoping to upgrade to a new one in the end of 2011), I need my Diesel F450 at work. For the weekends I also have my newer F250 for hauling and my two motorcycles, one sport bike, one Harley. Those are my hobbies, what do the rest of the Prius guys here do? Just trying to get to know my new brothers a bit.
I miss my F-150 on occasions but I have adapted well without one. Don't miss filling it up though. Welcome aboard brother!
Sometimes I miss my old truck but the horrible emissions and gas mileage I do not miss. This = 719rwhp Or this = not so much Then this.... Best ET on single rear-mount turbo was 12.3@110mph and 5500lb raceweight. I never raced it with the twin-turbo setup but it could smoke the tires at 90mph. lol
I like the look of old trucks but I have never owned a truck. Hobbies...disc golf and home audio. I used to build tube amps for fun but I got burnt out after making a hobby business out of it...sucked the fun right out of it. I probably have several k in tubes and electrical parts sitting around the house right now.
I had an old 66 Chevy truck way back when. Used to take it to the Red River in Louisiana for offroading. If the tide was low I'd drive over the levee and out to the sand bars to hang out in the middle of the river. Kinda reminded me of that Don McLean song, except we mostly drank Tequila instead of whiskey and rye.
i have an 05 dakota for my remodeling business. but i have only put 20K on in 6+ years. i often dream about an old classic truck with a wood flat bed and stake sides. but, i like the fact that i don't have to do anything to the dakota except change the oil. can't really say that i like it tho, it get's the job done, period. if i can fit it in the prius, all the better.
So, this is a thread only for the "brotherhood"? I like trucks for truck things - moving furniture, hauling large loads of stuff, and/or hauling icky things that I wouldn't want inside my Prius. Trucks also pull trailers well. I've driven everything from a tiny LUV to a 1.5 ton dump truck (with split-shift tranny), at one time or another. My hobbies include NOT driving trucks. :thumb: ... also photography, organic gardening, and playful flirting.
I've been pinch-driving a Honda Pilot occasionally. It has a realtime and accumulated mileage display, which is highly commendable: feedback is a big help in improving mileage. The Pilot's a nice change of pace, like the feel. It's fog light are night-and-day improvement over those on our Prius: the latter's being mainly ornamental, imho. Really working on it I got the Pilot's mileage down into 12 liter/100km range.
I love huge 4x4 of road trucks.. not secretly. Everyone knows I do. In fact, if I wasn't such a freak about paying for gas, or caring for the environment a bit, I would probably be driving a toyota hilux by now. (good thing I don't-I wouldn't be able to find a parking place at work lol)
About 2 months ago I traded in my 09 jeep grand Cherokee limited with every possible option available. I effing loved that thing just not the MPG's but was awesome and fun in the snow. I'm hoping by next summer to purchase a 2008 SRT8 grand Cherokee. I have 3 friends with SRT jeeps. They're beast!!!
I went from a 2003 F-150 SuperCrew FX4 to a 2006 Prius.. I miss the 'manliness' of the truck, but love the Prius.. and of course the gas mileage is 'much' better.
