Hi all. I just wanted to post the price I got on my 2010 used prius:
I'm new to the forum but here it goes:
2010 prius II ,dealer said it was a IV, found the MSRP in the trunk which said II. 26,000 miles on it. came with no floor mats, 1 smart key.Thats it, nothing more. The price, $26,000 plus TT&L plus the extended 100,000 warranty at $1950,didnt know if I could buy it from troy because im not the original owner. Now, I know what most are thinking, why buy it?? Because of my LOW credit score, 525 I believe. No one would even bother with me but this Toyota dealership came through and found someone who would, capital one at 15.05%. Took quite a few days. Any ways there it is. I love my new used car. Thanks for this forum and all you people who contribute here. Ohh, the Msrp is $23,370.

If the dealer told you it was a IV and it's really a II, particularly if it says IV anywhere on your contract or invoice you really need to go back to the dealer and complain... There is a several thousand dollar price difference between an II and an IV and at the very least I would expect some money back.

$26k for a used #2?!? Hard to imagine a year ago the dealers were giving these away new for $21,000.

I'm thinking (and hoping) that it was $26K out the door, including tax, tags and the extended warranty, but even so it seems like that would be a better number for an IV.

Edit: I just reread the original post and it was pretty clear that it was $26K *plus* tax, tags and the warranty.. that is a terrible price for a used II... that dealer definitely owes you some money back.

Got news for you- that's the going price for a used II right now- $25,995 before taxes is what i was quoted with 17,000 miles. They are for some reason going for more than a 2011 II I guess cause 2011 are hard to find.? There are a ton of crazy prices going on right now. I'm selling my old Mazda and probably going without a car for a month or 2 til this all adjusts.

+1. Yeah the OP got ripped a new one but doesn't seem to mind. Oh well. It's all relative. It's just money.

I know that's what they're going for. But others don't seem to know. Like the other day on this forum, some peeps freaked out when they saw a Gen II level 6 for $18k w/ 60k miles. It's like, that's nothing. Dealer prices are much higher than that right now.

Yeah I know guys terrible price for a great car.:( Anyways, it said "2010 prius IV $28,887"on a peace of paper that was laying on the dash board. As soon as I bought it, they took away the paper. They never ever said prius IV, just called it a prius. And the kicker, it didnt come with floor mats so I called them up two days ago to see if they could find or sell me some. They said they would look and call me. NOT ONE CALL YET. They didnt even give me a copy of the papers I signed. Not 1 single paper. Nothing.

My friend has an '08 she said she was offered more than what she paid for it new in '08. It's Cabbage Patch Kid syndrome- people hear there is a shortage and a good number of them are willing to pay whatever it takes. I need a car badly right now- but no way am I paying more than sticker- even paying that seems crazy- but when I throw in the price of the rental car while I wait- it evens out. Til then, I'm riding my bike.

Added: also I was told 2010 are more because there is a 2.9% deal on used Toyota not new. I was lucky enough to get 3.6 from my bank- so I'll go with new.

Believe it or not, the floor mats are an option (around $100, as I recall), so it's quite possible the car wasn't purchased with the mats.

If you don't mind buying them then there are pleanty of aftermarket ones out there for less than the OEM ones.

Well, just here updating my buying experience. Yesterday I got a call from my sales guy. He wanted to know if I had returned the car. I said no, why? He replied that it showed in his system that I had returned it. So, today I call toyota financial to cancel the warranty I bought from them and then buy one from troy at a deep discount but toyota said there is no warranty on the car that I have. I told them I just bought it on the 26. He replied that it should still be showing that I had it. HMMMMMMM.......... The weird thing is that the bank that approved me gave them the approval more that a week prior to me signing the contract and in the middle of that time I went online and applied at that bank(not knowing it was the same bank) and got rejected. I hope it has nothing to do with that. Thats about it :) Hope I dont have to return it....... TBC

DUDE. You just got a free car and potentially a free warranty. Leave. Run away. Drive to Mexico and live there. Or sell the car and make out with a lot of cash. Then move to the Bahamas.

    I hope these forums aren't audited. ;)

Not kidding. These are the moments in life everybody waits for. If Mexico is too close, then drive to Canada. At least you'll get 50 mpg.
