Goodyear No Integrities

    Front are supposedly gone...indicators on outside treads showing. Middle 3/4 of tread looks ok

    Back supposedly have another 10,000 miles.


    One owner prius 2007 at 15,700 miles.


    toyota dealership tried to sell me some Yokohamas AS 530 tires but I can't find much good info on these and I think they might be old tires.

    Dealership stocks nothing.

    Discount tires stock nothing.

    Kaufmann pushing continentals...not comfortable.

    Costco has sale on Mich energy? still a lot of money

    No one really has anything in stock for the Prius.

    Have not tried NTB but bad reputation on install, damaging cars, tire sensors, and heavy waiting times


    I am going out of town Thursday and nervous to drive the Integrities, but I do not want anymore Integrites. My milage has been about 37-39

    Sounds like the tires were under-inflated or there was an alignment problems. Many here on PC, including myself will say that the "recommended" pressure on the door sticker are too low and will lead to the above.

    There's a list of LRR tires being compiled at http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-...resistant-replacement-tires-current-list.html. I hear you about the Integrities. The consensus here is that they suck.

    Dealer acted like I was crazy when I asked about LRR on the yokos they were trying to sell me.

    Is LRR a necessary factor when buying tires?

    No, but if you care about having significantly reduced mileage, you should stick w/ones that have low rolling resistance. Perhaps you should read the links in F8L's post, such as When Round and Black Becomes Lean and Green where they showed the fuel economy they got w/a bunch of tires vs. the stock Integrities.

    However, from Tire Tech at Tire Rack
    Perhaps you should go somewhere else for tires.

    I am looking elsewhere. I read both the article and the current list, which are great. Now trying to track down something in stock.

    I bought the Goodyear Viva Authority Fuel Max's last fall - they are the Walmart exclusive version of the Assurance tires. I bought them simply because they were about $15 less per tire than the Sears version and from my research they were almost identical - the only difference was a variation in the tread design. So far I have been very happy - they deliver good mileage and handle as well as I had hoped and they did well this winter in the snow and rain. The only reason that I would not buy the same tire in the future would be wear, but it is too early for me to know.

    I think a local tire shop can get me The Ecopias 422 , buy 3 get one free. All said and done for around $430.

    Is there an adjustment that needs to be done to the tire sensors?

    Said they had to charge me for new sensors inside valve part...just called and said i did not like that charge, and when they give me a print out of alignment next week they will take it off...printer was out of ink on alignment machine.

    If it was a sensor "rebuild kit" for about $7 to $10/wheel, then it might have been worthwhile if your sensors are over 5 years old.

    They basically replace the rubber parts in the valve stem plus maybe the outer nut. When you buy tires without TPMS you usually get new valve stems every time you buy tires, this is the TPMS version of that.

    My plan is to replace them at a tire change at around 5 years, then not again because TPMS batteries often die by 10 years so you will need new sensors then anyway.
