I made a 239 mile trip today and the average mpg reading on the MFD was 51.1. Driving was 60% highway, 10% city and 30% interstate. That is the best I have been able to get in the 2 months I have owned the car. Outside temp high was 62 and the low as I was pulling into my driveway was 48. I just thought I would pass it along. Thanks: Tom.

My best daily commute is 38.3 km/l for 19 km. Took 30 minutes to complete the trip. Early morning and minimum traffic (City area was little congested). No A/C. Done few (6) P&G without slowdown the traffic..

My best long trip is again 38.4 km.l for 171 km trip. mostly without A/C.Used hard accelerations to overtake slow vehicles, but tried to maintain ave. speed around 50km/h. Used P&G, but the glide is mostly not perfect.

Question.. where is everyone getting the very cool ( very diagnostic ) graphs from ?
Not the dash graphs, but maybe from a scanner ?

This is the best tank I had before converting to Phev except I was able to squeeze another mile out of it. So 1st Pic is non-enginer best and 2nd pic is my current tank with enginer kit scangauge says I have another 303 mile range but I dont think I will push that hard

Ahh, Stefano, I never realized your quoted mpgs were from the display. That changes things ;-)

Spcalan, I'm not sure which graph you mean...Michgal took a pic from the display, the options to get there are Trip, Trip Info, Consumption, or something like that. Is that what you meant?

I can take the pics of my scangauge if you would like mikey :) Actually my mpg's are based off of miles driven to amount of fuel needed to fill back up. And since I got my scangauge I use that on top of miles driven to fuel needed. Mfd for me is usually 2 to 3 mpg's higher than what I am actually getting. The tank in photo 1 I only averaged 60.1 mpg's . In photo number 2 my scangauge states I am avg 111 mpg's

yes, I have those.. but some people have much more 'advanced' graphs showing..
show throttle opening, O2 readings.. maybe from a scanner.

My first tank was 420 miles....
    On my second now...

This is my best MPG (km/l). This trip actually during mid night and No A/C. Almost empty road. However no deliberate P&G and vehicle was full.

96 mpg over 8.6 miles averaging way under 20 mph and no deliberate hypermiling? Go on...

What I meant was no deliberate P&G. However I used moderate acceleration and then kept the speed. Sometimes it is gliding and sometimes it was using battery power. When the battery level drops ICE comes and that time I accelerate the vehicle. This may be hypermiling, but I was not looking at the screen. May be I am getting used to get max out the pulse.

What you have seen is the last part of the trip where I cannot go fast because of the road conditions. Usually it take 50 minutes during normal traffic and it take 20-25 minutes when road is free (no way comparable to US roads)

    Pretty impressive, well done!

That's like my current tank, which is pretty good for me, especially just for driving around town. I have about 300 miles and averaging 57.5 on the MFD, probably 55 when I calculate it on the next refill.

Entirely plausible, especially since a screen shot was included.

Oh, I very much believed it, didn't mean to cast doubt, just thought it was funny he was driving so slowly and gliding most of the time and didn't consider it hypermiling.

Thanks for the trip description, cwa, nice job :)

    Hi Mike,

The reason why I said no deliberate P&G is that I was too tired at that day driving several times up and down. It was slow as the roads are not meant to go higher speed than 60 kmh in main roads and 15-30 kmh in certain parts as it was after heavy rain and pot holes (The later part of the road to our home is really bad and slow. I too was amused by this as I was not being able to get this best result when I was full awaken.

However slowness itself and my tiredness may have helped. Even the Japanese Hyper-milers achieve their best results when the ave. speed is around 35kmh. In a normal day time I would try to go fast, but invariably I have to slow down due to traffic. We do not have nice highways that US/Europe enjoy.

This is my best mpg so far. 46 km/l. Today was a public holiday and little traffic on the road. I tried by best to do P&G. Glide was not perfect as most of the time using little battery power. However the result was very good.
