So I'd love to have a windshield sun shade on the car, but I hate those things that you have to fold up and then unfold and stick under the visors, etc. Too cumbersome. I want something that is very neatly installed on the right edge of the windshield and has a retractable sun shade that you can pull across the windshield and clips onto the left side.

Do any of these exist that really look nice and work with the gen2 or gen3 prius? Anyone have experience with them?

Sounds like a road hazard if it somehow got knocked loose.

I think the product you describe exists.

If that is what you want go for it.

Personally? I don't like the looks of those retractable shades. I don't like having the attachment on my window.

I bought a custom fit shade for my Honda Fit...(huge Prius like windshield) and yes it's large and somewhat cumbersome to use. But really? It's not that hard to roll it up...or unroll it...probably takes less than 60 seconds. Worth it to me to not have the "I'm livin' in a metal trailer" look to my vehicle.
