I was amazed at how uncomfortable I am. Very disappointed. Didn't notice it on my test drive probably because I was in WOW mode, but I've tried adjusting each and every way and can only achieve Less Worse.....

My back is killing me, feels like my right leg is getting deep vein thrombosis and it feels like the head rest is pushing my head forward too much.

To be fair this is an issue for me in almost every car I've driven. I'm nearly 6'4".

Had a 2003 for 7 years and it was more comfortable.

Love everything else about the car (except the iPod/iPhone USB interface and the radio reception, but that's another post....

Finished a multi-day road trip last week, and never noticed any problem with comfort. My driver seat is set pretty high, I fiddled with the lumbar a long time ago, and have ignored it ever since. Since I have a history of sacro/sciatic pain and nothing was irritated, I am good to go.

I have been comfortable but....I noticed that to be so I needed to raise the seat. I am 6'2 and I was used to the altitude of a SUV...It makes sense. There is plenty of headroom so why not try raising the seat...You will find you will be able to sit closer to the wheel as well. This will lift your legs a bit.

If not there are aftermarket Recaro's waiting for you...

I'm 6'2" tall long legs, arms. In the Prius III, I use one click forward from fully slid back, about 3 or 4 full cranks up from fully down on height adjuster, I don't know notch setting on seatback, slight recline. I've done 120 mile days in one, but no problems with the seat.

The headrest ends up pretty darn close to back of my head, but just where I like it.

Everyone's built different so some not so lucky. It's seems like a really good seat for a small-mid size car. The steering wheel could telescope a bit closer.

There is quite a bit of headroom for taller people in the new Prius, but, the top of windshield is not very high and you still need to see things up there. The rearview mirror in the IV, V obstructs forward view too much for me.

Sublime seating to me is a new Honda Accord with leather. Yum.

    Re: Are your seats comfy?

Our local Walgrens Drug Store has a black webbed cushion that drapes over the seat. I use one and it's better than nothing...less than $10.

I have had absolutely no problems but my wife has had a back (undiagnosed at this point) problem ever since our first long drive in the car last August. Multiple doctors, MRI, blood tests, physical therapy and nobody knows what the problem is yet. She says our Odyssey is now also uncomfortable to ride in but not as bad as the Prius.

I just did a 600+ mile trip in mine this weekend and was pretty comfy. I have my seat almost on the floor with a slight incline. My dad has had surgery on his back before and drives a IV with the lumbar. He hasnt complained. There was another post on here where someone ordered a back pillow for cars off a website. Try searching for that.

My wife is 5' 2" and with her seat back upright which is how she drives the angle of the headrest always hit the back of her head at any heigth. This was never a problem on the "05" so I just assumed that someone at Toyota engineering ######up and speced the adjustment slots on the wrong headrest support. A simple reversal of the headrest or a 180 flip and all is well except they now just sit flush to the seat. As for the lumbar, what lumbar, appearently the seat designer had a fused spinal column. Unbelievable:mad: The center armrest slid back has no strength to support any side stress and snaps out of place if you apply any. Outside of that the door lock and trunk release now used just plain suck! Nothing like taking some cost out, its the American way to ruin your customer base!!!!

I'm wondering if the seats from the Lexus HS250h are interchangeable with the Prius...

That would be nice!! probably I have an isolated case my Prius level 3 came with leather sits and there are terrible!! not only they are falling apart it feels like sitting in a wood bench!

does any body here know those sits are 3rd party made? they look the same but I doubt have the same quality as the original sits coming from japan?

Lumbar pillows are cheap, available at Amazon.com. Both my wife and I sue them. No problem in our recent 1600-mile trip.

I'm 6'2" with long legs & a long spine, so "lumber" support for me means mid-back as opposed to the lower. As such, all I had to do was add seat extenders. I now find the stock seat comfortable on long rides.

The headrest are closer to your heaad because of safety. This is standard on most cars now. It's safer.

if you flip the headrests i'm thinking they wont lock in place, and can/have came out during an accident and impalled/killed a few people something you might want to think about.
