That's my understanding of what Tommy did.

I had no idea that it was the driver's footwell light but it very well might be because Tommy initially tapped into the blue wire next to that red wire to test the puddle light functionality before he found the elusive blue wire and it was constantly on just like the footwell light. I only know what the photos show :D

I believe so. It's blocked from view in the photo.

Well I am looking through that bundle of wires and there is at least 6 blue wires in there and none have distinctive marks. I have no idea how I am going to figure out which one.

Here's where I got all mine wires. This is for V/ATP. Not sure if other trims and options are different.

Left Turn signal, Driver kick panel yellow wire same as post 1
Right Turn signal, Passenger kick panel green wire same as post 1
Parking light, (+) Green wire on the unused plug next to the mirror adjustment switch plug.
Ground, (-) White/black stripe on the unused plug next to the mirror adjustment switch plug.
Puddle light power, Positive for the illuminated door sill either side.
Puddle light ground, Blue wire at the driver side A pillar and the headliner meet. Just remove the blue tape and pink tape. It's the only blue wire there and easy to access.

I tried hunting for the blue wire at the harness where 32kcolors posted on #318. I gave up after testing 8 blue wire. I did find one that works with the dome light but it only measured 10 volts when the door's open. The one I found at the pillar measured 12v. Hope this helps.

What a blessing, I finally found the bugger at midnight! Thanks cp for the alternative, but I found it at the ECU. I did remove the A-pillar panel and found that blue wire too but it didn't seem to work for me (maybe not the same for the II?).

Anyway, I poked (using the sharp points of the voltmeter probes) the blue wires and after the 5th on found it. Again, there is nothing distinctive about it other than it is the smaller of the two size blue wires and it appears from 32K's picture and in my bundle, it seems to hang out with a pink wire (also the small size). It was of course in the back of the bundle furthest away! Here are two pics, one when found it and the other when tapped.
Thanks 32K for the pictures and info... I would have never attempted to find the wire this way without it! I am tired but going to continue the install today.

Good question... since we don't have footwell lighting, we are going to have to find another source. The big white wire leading into that ECU is constant 12v + but no real good way to tap it. Eating lunch right now and will be getting back to it soon.

Confirmed, that makes a great source for the puddles. Thanks again cp!

Just have my markers left to hook up.

Claybarred and did the full Zaino treatment today, and now the cloudiness left from the previous wax job after painting is gone. I highly recommend that everybody claybar and polish their mirror covers to remove any imperfections from the paint/wax job and handling of them.

The drivers side was white w/red stripe. I ran both puddles to this source.

I got the mirrors modified, the wires run into the car from the doors and the doors reassembled. Wiring tomorrow.

    A couple of observations:

RE the mirror wiring, you can remove the rubber gasket at the mirror-to-body mount to help run the wires out of the mirror assembly. I used a zip tie as a fish tape to pull the wires from inside the mirror housing down thru the mirror pivot to the mirror-to-body mount point.

Getting the wires from the doors to the interior was very hard despite CivicSky's instructions. I spent 1-2 hrs on each side on this alone and nearly infinite patience. If anyone had a trick or two that made this go faster, please post them.

I can confirm the rubber gasket. I removed it too.

LOL sorry for your loss on feeding the wires through to the interior. Took me 5 minutes each side. Didn't need any tools. Just shoved the Red-blue-black wire through the tube. It helps to make the tube straight yourself by moving it while trying to push the wire through.

Once the red-blue-black wire was through, I taped the white-black wire to the red-blue-black wire and pulled the red-blue-black wire into the interior further therefore snaking the white-black wire into the interior.

I used the red-blue-black wire to push through the tube because it doesn't bend as easily as the white-black wire.

What Tommy did was fold the wires in half then feed the folded wires through the loom before retrieving the end of the wires. For example, if you have a long screwdriver, you fold the wires over the tip of the blade then insert the blade in.

First off, I want to thank 32K for recommending me to Tommy. I got fed up with waiting to install mine and knew that even if I tried, it would take me an eternity to complete the installation. So I called him up, and he got me out of there in less than 2 hours. Made it look too easy!
Anyways, I am most definitely loving the look of these turn signals. I decided to connect the "cruising" white light as the output isn't that great, and it'll be somewhat distinctive (just hope the cops don't think the same ;)). Didn't take any picts of the installation cause I didn't want to slow Tommy down.
I am attaching some picts of the puddle light output, since there was some discussion and questions about how bright they were.... (pardon the messy garage).

Finished! I would have to rate this an advanced modification! But like HI MPG and others, it was worth it. I like them very much, they will add very much needed visibility for other drivers.

Thanks again to all that helped make this modification a success!

Spiderman, I looked at the wires today, and I only found two small blue wires. I was very tempted to just tap one of them (50-50 chance) but decided to play it safe. What do I look for with a voltmeter? I'm a complete novice as you can see. I never used a volt meter before nor do I have one.

Thanks for the info on the 12v+ lead. That is easy to tap into.

I'm going to post very detailed info once I get everything done for other novices like me.

^ Only two eh? Must be because you have a model 1 with few options. On the other hand perhaps your not in the right area... can you post a picture just to make sure.

OK, if your volt meter (select DC with a range that includes 12 volts) has sharp end probes, attache the positive (red) probe to the constant power as you mentioned above and using the negative (black probe) stab one of the blue wires firmly. With the interior lights on, you should get a 12v reading. Next press the door switch (turns off the lights when the door is close) in and wait till the interior lights go off (make sure all the other doors are closed). If it is the right wire, the voltage should drop to zero. If not try the other one.

This all assumes the model 1 even has door activated interior lights... I assume it does but have no idea.
