Lowering my 2010 prius

Absolutely any garage anywhere can swap springs, it is not a specialised function at all.

 

Check with these guys: Southland Motoring 1731 W. Katella Ave., Orange, CA 92867 (714) 289-2277. They did my install for ~$100, which was a lot less than anyone else quoted me. Ask for Darren.
Or you could PM Hawaiianbuilt. He has a list of a few vendors who could help out in that department.

 

you could also try midnight garage in Buena Park.... Rodney (Hawaiianbuilt) recommended that shop to me....

 

Southland Motoring installed my Eibach Pro Kit Springs today. I paid $175 which seemed fair (to me) for 2 hours of labor. It is amazing what a difference 1" makes. I look at the pictures from before the drop and the car looks goofy with that huge wheel gap. Pics coming soon.

 

The springs definitely give it a firmer feel. Here's an initial photo of the drop. I'll get some on a level surface so you get a better idea of the Rear vs Front gap. The Eibach's give the car a nice "raked" look where the rear is a little higher than the front.

 

Both cars look extremely sharp!
OCBP - I like the "rake" look. Maintains the original wedgy look fo the Prius.
Coolaid - Very minimal gap. Definitely a stunner!

For those considering a drop, here are a couple of before and after pics. Look at the huge gap on the front in the "Before" shot. Cornering is significantly improved with minimal body roll. I am also seeing an improvement in MPG which I am documenting in another thread.

 

It looks "right" now. Looking back, didn't it look funky??

 

I'm curious how my 2005 is going to turn out. My well gap looks like your after shot. I wonder if my springs are just starting to sag or if it has been that way the whole time. I hope my new Eibachs don't raise my car. lol

 

Yes, it looked goofy.

 

The previous gen doesn't seem to suffer from the current gen's excessive wheel gap. I think yours looks good as-is.

 

F8L, I see what you mean but the stock spring height varies a lot of people - IOW, I think yours are just sagged. I've seen a lot of Priuses that look low, but I know they're not on performance springs. The same goes for you - I can tell that yours is not lowered now. Also, you have 17" rims and tires so it closes the wheel well gap even more. I can guarantee that yours will be lower than it is now and you will be able to see the difference. To put your mind at ease, here are some pictures of Jason Heng's car w/ Eibachs and 17" rims, similar to yoursetup. You can see that it's much lower than yours and sits right above the tire;

To me (and this is just my opinion) I think the gap on your Prius looks just right.

 

Dude don't tell him that, his springs are on the way. It's worse than telling a kid there's no such thing as Santa.

But whatever I still don't think it's true. I'd rather have new lowering springs than sagging stock springs. Which is worse for your shocks?
