The subtle lines with few brighter directional LEDs for the cruising lights and turn signals are a very nice touch. Any brighter and it'll become disco. I actually got them because I like the way they look on the car with the lights off and they break up the otherwise bland sides (as there are no chrome handles, lower rocker trim, etc.). The puddle and cruising lights are just a bonus.

Just had mine installed by Nigels' installer Tommy in El Monte.

Both Nigel and the installer Tommy are great to deal with. Tommy had my lights installed in about an hour and performed all of the necessary connections solely under the dash. He also demo'd the pilot light for me but I opted to unplug this option as it isn't my preference. The puddle lights and blinkers function like factory (Japan). The puddle lights even fade out/off with the interior lighting but are on a different circuit.
Both Nigel and Tommy the installer are competent, reasonable and highly recommended for anyone interested in these units or installation.

Did you learn where he connected the puddle lights under the dash?

No sorry, I sat under a tree and yapped on the phone while he worked his magic.

Had mine installed by Tommy too and I posted a picture of the elusive blue wire earlier.

Thank you. I see that photo. In the photo, have the puddle light wires from the mirrors already been connected? I ask because they don't appear to be visible. Are they connected to the blue wire at another location?

Not yet. The picture is showing the blue wire to tap into. At the time I took the picture, the cruising and turn signal lights had been connected but not the puddle light.

Can you provide some more info about the underdash area in the photo? What had to be removed to take the picture?

And those connections are made from the bundle of wires in the photo 32kcolors took? Any chance you or 32kcolors could take a photo of the completed connections such that the wires and the colors would be visible. From the photo is appears that the puddles are connected to a dark blue/ light blue wire (-). That leaves the signals and running. If all the connections can be made from this bundle, it will simply the wiring.

    Thanks

Any chance you remember or could check the wire colors for the other functions (signals, running). I know we can find those else where but if all the connections can be made in the same area, that will simply things.

My mirrors are in San Fran and should be here soon.

Yes, hadn't read the 300+ posts here but I can confirm the same. The panel is attached via one screw and is located on the drivers side, behind the fog light push button or dummy switches for those with less options.

Follow the OP for removing the lower door trim and foot panel, then remove the panel containing the mirror controls, dash dimmer, etc. by pulling it off (don't forget to unscrew the screw at the bottom). As you can see below, the puddle white and black wires are tapped into the blue wire. The other connections are separate from this bundle of wires.

You make me want to undo my current puddle lights wiring and connect to the blue wire underneath the dash! I have a feeling that searching for this blue wire will become my weekend project.

I can see that your installer brought up both the black and white wire for the puddle lights. But then they seem to separate and the white wire goes to the blue wire and I can't figure out where the black wire went. Where did this black wire go?

I am glad I asked again because this wasn't the bundle of wires I was thinking about... thanks!

Thanks for the extra pictures & explanation. I can see where the two red wires and two blue wires from each side are connected, and I can see two black wires going to a ground lug in the lower right (turn signal/parking light ground?). But I only see one white wire going back to the elusive vehicle blue wire, not two, and it's not clear where the puddle light black wires went. Are you saying that the vehicle blue wire is cut, and the puddle light white/black wires are wired into each cut end?

The following pics show how the white and black wires were combined. Remove yet another panel on the underside attached by two screws and a clip in the middle.

Got my mirror covers in! Just six days (nine days total transaction time) to ship from Taipei (from MIT Accessories).
    Initial quality: very good
    Paint quality: good.
    Kit quality: very good

The kit includes everything it appears. Very simplified instructions though.

There where two minor flaws in the paint. A little lint and a small drop/smudge (see photos).

We will see how the paint holds up over time but initially I am very happy with the kit. Total cost was $157 with express shipping to AK.

These pictures help - I'll interpret what you did to see if I understand.

You've run a black/white stripe wire from the infamous blue wire over to the area just under the steering wheel, where you've joined the two puddle light black wires to it. Taking off the underdash panel exposes this area and the driver's side footwell light.

You've connected the two puddle light white wires to a red wire that powers the driver's footwell light. Presumably, the red wire has constant +12 V.

    Is this correct?

Also, it appears you've hooked up both mirror turn signals to wires in the driver's side junction block. One goes to a green wire that I can see, but does the other go to the yellow wire that Civicsky called out for the left turn signal?

Yeah I think that's right. It threw me off how the installer connected the two black wires using a white/black wire to the infamous blue wire. The constant 12V+ seems easy to find just a red wire out of what 4 wires?

Now it's just figuring out which blue wire :D
