whats the reason MPG is better in warm weather?

Air density decreases, reducing drag. O2 partial pressure decreases, so the throttle needs to be more open to accept the same mass of air, reducing pumping loss.

 

First, I suspect the above is one of 3 main reasons the fuel economy drops in Winter. Last winter when my mileage dropped, I noticed the ICE started at every corner, and it was more difficult to hypermill. So I filled up, and went on a drive where the ICE remained fully warmed, and then filled again. Mileage was back up close to summer normal.

Second is the winter blend of fuel. I suspect that is a "biggie." I really noticed the difference in my previous car ... an Acura RSX.

Third, pushing the tires through standing water and slush really takes a toll. Last summer on an extended trip, my mileage was consistent around 52+ mpg. Then it rained for most of a tank. The mileage dropped to about 48 mpg as I recall. Then the next tank was sunny and dry, and mileage was back up to 52 +.

 

I just wonder whether a budding spammer is trying to avoid the new registration scrutiny by hijacking old accounts, and found one with an easily guessed password.

Chuck, an esteemed moderator on another forum, has run several threads about spammers trying to make their living polluting these discussions boards. The latest thread started this week, including mention of the screenings applied to newly registered participants. This got me to thinking of other possible attacks.

Posts #33 and 35 in this thread raised my suspicions. A reader who made a single post five years ago suddenly reappears, resurrecting an ancient thread with strange posts. Are these posts from the original owner of this login, or from a hijacker attempting to avoid the above mentioned screening?

 

That's not a spammer fuzzy1. That's an on topic reply, not very elegantly written, but an on topic reply none the less. Spammers hardly ever post on-topic replies.
