Hi All, Wanted to log in and say hi. I'll be taking a plane to Devon, PA Thurs. to get my new Prius. It took a long time to find what I wanted, and, find a dealer that would sell out of state. I got a Gray/Drk. Gray Trim level IV - no package. It's been a frustrating couple of weeks and I'm glad it's over. Prii are very hard to find, as, I suspect, this group already knows. Looking forward to the 850 mile drive home. Can't wait. Thanks for all the help with my search. Your forum was very useful. John
Welcome aboard! Is that a 2010 or 2011? Enjoy the ride home and just take it easy on the car for the first 1000 miles.
Welcome and congratulations. Nice color choice Enjoy your ride home and try not to be too distracted while looking at all of the cool displays and watching mpg.
Wow...coming all the way to Devon?? I checked them out while I was shopping around, they didn't have near the selection of Conicelli in Conshohocken. Glad you found the vehicle you want. Be gentle on the ride home!
Are you getting a good price? All priuses are almost inflated by 5k over MSRP at the dealers around here.
Congrats on your Prius decision and welcome to PriusChat. :welcome: I'm surprised a dealer balks at selling a car out of state. I bought my out of state, but didn't have any problems. On your way home, stop in Toledo, OH. I once spent a night there one week.
I bought it for sticker. It would seem that's a good deal these days. There is a $300 dealer prep. The other dealer preps I saw ranged from $158 to $300. So, although it's the highest dealer prep, it isn't the only one that high. It seems that most have had a good experiences buying out of state, but there are the horror stories, so, I'm crossing my fingers. The dealer that wouldn't sell me a car took me through the entire process, including an OK from the sales manager. Then, apparently the owner walked in while I was on the phone and said he wasn't selling any Prii except to locals. Of course I argued, but lost that long distance argument. Z
Congrats from one newbie to another. Buying a prius these days is getting nuts and the dealers are causing the nutness.
I hate it when I screw up a perfectly good quote: On your way home, stop in Toledo, OH. I once spent a week there one night. LOL.... Now that's funny, thanks to John Denver!
I would stop, but according to the song I should be there on Saturday. (Besides, it sounds much more like a Yogi'ism!!) Z
I from Toledo, so John and I speak the truth. (So does Yogi) Your new Prius plays out like a game so be safe driving home.
