My current rearview mirror is the one with the monitor built into the corner of it. I like the idea of those big wide mirrors like HawaiianBuilt had put in his, since the view out of the Prius is SO blind... I don't know how many times I've almost pulled over into someone because I just couldn't see anyone there. Anyhow, I was wondering if anyone knows if they make one of those wide mirrors that have the monitor feature built in like the stock mirror I currently have. I know they make actual monitors that go on in place of the rearview mirrors, but I don't know anything about them either. Does anyone have any insight on this situation? Thanks!!

All you really need to do is adjust your side view mirrors outward (with your head against the pillar for the driver's side) until you can no longer see the side of the car. That'll eliminate the side blind spots.

So, to clarify, you're saying to lean my head against the pillar between the driver's door and the rear driver's side door, and then adjust both side mirrors outward to where I can't see the side of the car any longer?

You do the head leaning for driver's side only. For the passenger side mirror, it's sufficient to sit normally and adjust the mirror outward until you can no longer see the side of the car as the blind spot on that side isn't as bad.

Can I ask if you like the video on the rearview mirror? I am spoiled from 2006 with the video built into the dash, it seems lame that in order to get it that way with 2011 you need the nav. Anyone else feel this way?

new Subaru's have the a backup cam in the rear view mirror. I'd like that for my wife's car.

I'd prefer to have a bigger display, cause you can't really tell a ton from the image when you are looking at it on the rearview mirror. I would opt for purchasing a camera that will give distance markers and that also has the night vision feature. I've searched for those a ton of times, but I always read conflicting reviews about the different models, so I've never taken the plunge. What I would like is one of the W-I-D-E mirrors that also has the built-in gadgetry for the back-up cam and the other stuff our stock mirrors come with (i.e., HomeLink)...
