Yeah, after reading about drilling out the rivets, I was like, "Yeah, right!" Recipe for disaster, as far as I am concerned... I definitely would rather the dealership be the one to take all the door panels off and do all the work, and then warranty/guarantee it. I sure couldn't do it myself. My tail lights I bought in the group buy a number of months back are STILL sitting in the box, cause I don't feel comfortable doing the whole "unscrew-the-back-bumper" process. That, plus they weren't the original ones I wanted (wanted the FULL LED ones), but thought another member was gonna be able to do something cool to these to make them where I WOULD really like them (but that unfortunately didn't work out). :focus:So, yeah, in summary, the dealership option doesn't sound so bad after all...

Just a ways down 95. But be careful! Stay away from I-10... you don't wanna' get over there in 'Nole Country!

Also, I doubt whether your dealer or Bean would actually do the work themselves. Rather they would farm it out to a "true" upholstery shop.

But I don't understand your statement, "After all the trouble this is sounding like it entails...." As the Scottrade commercial says, "The fun, the fun... how about all the fun?" :D

Yes please... definitely looking forward to your installation pictures :hail:

P.S. As for the xs650, I agree 100%... oft' described as a limey bike done right... sorta like the SR500 I had many moons ago. When I travel to Japan I see virtually no vertical twins... lotsa' V-twins (ugh) and a surprising number of SR400s, their non-stroked version of the SR500.

Well, that's not my kind of fun, I guess! lol! My dealer will just do it one day (at my convenience) in about 3 hours. That's what they say they normally allow to do it. I can sit there and wait while they do it, or they will run me home and come pick me back up... They have full-time people on staff that do leather and tinting and those things...
