I have a 2011 prius and have a MSD 6A ignition and blaster coil sitting in my garage. Is it possible to put in a prius??? is this known in the prius movement?? I'm brand spanking new to prius so I didn't know.

Wow... is that something like a Flux Capacitor?

If it is an ignition coil, I can't imagine how it would improve the Prius much.

No, not at all. It's not an old school V8 engine and cannot use such "performance" parts. The Prius has a COP ignition system.

lol...its actually the main component to travel in time....lol...it works on efficient combustion and more spark therefore creating power and better fuel....so i think....I got it a while back for my honda civic and never installed it...worth a try

I just hope you don't turn a $25K car into a book end. I would never try that on a Prius. The expected gain is what - nothing to slim? The potential loss is significant.

I think the MSD 6D isnt compatible with our engines with direct coils

If you want some handling gains put in a strut tower bar. I installed mine today and I am incredibly happy with the performance. It is no Porsche by any means but you can now accelerate out of turns instead of waiting for the car to wallow back into alignment before getting on the gas.

It has hurt my fuel economy though...because I get on it around corners now. :)

lol! I love taking turns fast especially off ramps! I will look into a strut bar, upper and lower.

The spark and combustion are already optimized. Your Prius isn't an old-school V8 slapped together with whatever parts the auto maker had on hand. It is a finely tuned integrated machine. Pretty much anything you can add will make things worse, not better, and may possibly damage some very expensive parts.

If you want to customize, focus on parts unrelated to the engine and hybrid system.

Maybe you don't know what COP is. It means that there is one coil on each spark plug to fire it. Again neither the MSD 6 or the single coil are compatible to the Prius system. Put them on ebay as you can't use them on modern cars.

    remember

the ICE doesn't turn the front wheels.

so making ICE spool up quicker does nothing for your 0-60 times

The Prius, as another member pointed out, uses coil-over-plug ignition, meaning that each individual spark plug has its own coil and the ECM fires the individual coil which fires the plug. Your MSD ignition system will not work on this engine.
