Hi all, I have had my 2006 Gen II Prius for 5 years, and I want to upgrade the Prius floor mats. I currently have Beige interior, however I do not want to get the Beige interior mats again as they show stains so easily. This past weekend I was at the Toyota dealer looking at the new 2011 Prius, and I noticed that for the 2011 Prius the carpet mats in the beige interior vehicle are this nice deep charcoal gray color. This would be great as it matches the black trim in the car and looks nice against the beige interior and carpet. It would also hide dirt and stains. My question is - will a 2011 Prius carpet map fit in a 2006 Prius? I would much prefer to get the new dark charcoal gray mats, but not sure if they will fit perfectly in my Gen II? I am not interested in third party mats as I like the Prius name on the mats.. Thanks for any info!
Considering that Toyota has recently taken a severe financial hit due to unintended acceleration issues, use of incorrect floor mats, resultant loss of unit sales from adverse publicity, and the cost of recalling many of their models including Prius, I doubt that your dealer's parts dept would knowingly sell you mats not designed for your model. If all you want is a grey color, why not buy the 2G mats in the grey color?
The gray floor mats for the 2G model are a lighter color gray, and would not match properly with the beige carpet interior. The color on the new (2011) prius are a very dark (almost black) charcoal gray that would match the beige interior better (in fact they are using it on the new Prius beige interior.) If they offered the nice dark charcoal color on the 2G floormats, I would buy them in a second. Thanks!
Thanks JimN. That is exactly what I needed to know. I will just go with the 2006 beige mats or take a look at some 3rd party mats. Thanks!
