I would like to relocate the aux audio input from inside the center armrest to the blank that is further forward under the dash so it's easier/less messy for me to run the power and audio wires for my aftermarket xm receiver.

I asked the dealership service guy and he just said 'no'. The aux audio input looks like it's the same size as all the rectagular blanks that are scattered across the dash, so I don't see why this wouldn't be doable...although I'm not sure how hard it would be to take apart the center console to actually move it.

Does anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks!

That's the first thing I did. I can't believe toyota didn't put it there in the first place. I have an iphone and wanted to be able to the see the screen if someone called or to change pandora stations. It is a rela pain. the radio, climate control, shifter assembly, center console, center stack all has to be removed to do this. then after that the wiring of the aux has to be seperated from the power wire for the power port to move up front. I am a bmw tech with a month old 2011 prius and couldn''t help but do this. it just makes more sense. pm me and I can help walk you through it but it is difficult because of the way the center stack comes down over the lower open area.good luck!

Wow! That sounds pretty scary. I guess it makes sense that the service tech just said 'no' when I asked. It sounds a bit above what I'm capable of doing without breaking something. I appreciate the offer to walk me through it, but I think I'm going to leave it where it is.

If you feel uneasy about moving the port yourself, find out who does installs for your dealer. They always sub that stuff out. Then price shop with other local installers. It's an easy job for people in that business.
