Hey there! I just picked up my new 2011 Prius this morning. We traded in our 2005 baby blue Prius with almost 116000 miles for a new black beauty, nav package and all the trimmings. I literally got to see it on the truck last night, and put mile 2 on it myself. It's our first III and boy the changes from the '05 to the '11 are huge. I've already got an appointment to take it back in the morning to have the crazy backup beeping changed. I should have started reading here sooner.

I asked the dealer not to gas her up so I can fill it with the ethanol free sooner. It's got half a tank of regular that I'll burn first. This is my first ever brand new car, so I'm totally stoked about all of it. I loved my '05 and hated to let go of it, honestly. I loved the color, loved the car, the big display, everything. Black wasn't my first choice, but it looks SO classy and is a really striking car. Like I need to tell y'all...

I have ginormous manuals to go through, too! One thing I do miss is the bar graph screen which used to show me the current mpg being used in real time. I'm hoping to find that somewhere in all the new settings because I really lived by that bar and would adjust my driving/speed accordingly. Lots of new things yet to discover, I'm sure!

I'm the lurker type, but thought I'd pop in and say hello. :)

Congrats!! Make sure you read the Navigation manual because it has some stuff in there to make better use of it...otherwise, you will be frustrated with poor directions from the NAVI.

The current MPG display is just to the right of the MPH display. Not a traditional bar graph as such, but there. The pic below is with the car stopped, so the MPG display is at 0.

Oooh! Light bulb moment, lol! I was so distracted by everything else, I didn't even notice that. Thank you! I see the double image of the display in your pic as well. I wish there was a way to get rid of the halo effect, but I guess I'll get used to the blur eventually. the sales guy said that turning down the brightness would help, but I dont see a difference.

I had to turn down the brightness on mine, and it helped alot.

It's actually a reflection. What's facing you is a mirror. The actual screen is at the bottom facing up. Keep this in mind when cleaning the dash. Give it a gentile wipe with a dry coton T-shirt and see if the blur goes away.

I did realize that I'm looking at a mirror, but didn't think to try cleaning it since it's brand new. I figured the double image was from the mirror glass. I'll have a swipe at it anyway and see. My hub said it did get better last night by turning the brightness down, but during the day, I haven't noticed any difference at all.

Yes I do have the bisque interior, and I really like it!

You still have the bar graph, in 5-min and 1-min intervals on the VFD screen. Just press the Display button on the steering wheel a few times to select the correct screen. Hold down the display button to change from 5-min to 1-min display.

I wonder what the chances are of getting all these manuals on my kindle... ;) Maybe the 2011 nav manual is on PDF and I can at least iPad it?

Hey Princess, congrats on your new Prius and welcome to PriusChat. It's nice to have some NC company. The owner's manuals are quite bulky, but give it a read or two knowing you've got a forum of experience to get you through any tough issues.

Enjoy you bluetooth as NC is making it tougher to talk on cellphone while driving.

Yay, howdy neighbor! We are way eastern nc, about ten minutes from the beaches. There aren't many Prii out here, but we are seeing a few more lately. We're in pickup truck country. My hubby just traded in his '08 Tundra for an '11 last night, lol. Taking advantage of 0% interest on that one, and the 2.9 on mine.

I've spent most of the afternoon pouring over the manuals, and loving every minute of it. I'm headed outside to set up the audio. :D

Kindle, not sure. But if you have an Apple product capable of displaying video, Toyota does have tutorials in the iTunes store. Some are available on YouTube as well.

We love the beach. We try and get a lot of weekends at Wrightsville; just love it! We've talked about moving into the Wilmington area, but the housing market is tough for us sellers.
