3-28-11 Hi fellow owners, Kudos go to both Amazon.com and to msoengineer. When replacing my driver's side taillight last week, I called Toyota. $230 plus tax and labor, probably ending at $350 total. Amazon.com listed the taillight for $98.32. To make things even better, I am a yearly member of Amazon Prime ($75/yr). The program ships by 2-day air for no charge, delivered to my door, plus I saved Texas sales tax. Combine the good purchase price with the step by step pics offered by msoengineer, the taillight replacement proved simple. I felt good news is always appreciated.
ahh, amazon = amazing... i was sick this weekend/still recovering... and had to buy musinex at rite aid. I could not believe the price. Amazon has it for 1/2 off and I would get 2x as many..... Amazing store, I love it!
Thanks for the heads up. I need to replace the left tail light on my 04 and going to check Amazon.com. I'll do it when it gets warmer out.
It would be very depressing when all the local stores close doors and the only way to buy things is going online.
If those stores could meet Amazons pricing, that would be different. But as a long time shopper on Amazon, I can wait the 2 days to get what I order. Love Amazon Prime!!!
Mail order through the catalog used to be very popular. Montgomery-Wards, Sears, Spiegel & the US Post Office Department made tons of money. The catalogs were also a source for toys, insulation & toilet paper. So now we search through a digital catalog and Amazon.com, the other .com's, QVC, HSN and FedEx & UPS make a ton of money. Are you shopping on line because you can't find it in a store or can't you find it in a store because too many people shop on line? Probably some of both.
I lived 14 years in Elko NV, when I moved there it was 180 miles to a Sears, (Twin Falls ID) 240 miles to a Walmart, (Salt Lake City UT) 240 to any Mall. And 290 if you wanted it to be in state. (Reno NV) For some reason, I am really good at buying stuff online.
