Uhhh, and your proof is where? If I had to guess they don't affect your MPG at all. Stop making false claims.

I don't have any proof, if you mean wind tunnel results. I would have thought it obvious from aerodynamic principles. Plus, if raised lettering was beneficial to aerodynamics, surely Toyota would have taken the opportunity to cover our cars with their advertising.

In order for you to claim, that my claim is false, you must have proof that they do not affect MPG. So, where is YOUR proof?

Any airflow that hits the backend of the car, and therefore the badges, travels in small circular patterns and is pretty negligable. The proof is in the science baby!

We tested this last week and found that removing the badges improves mileage - but only by 3.14% - but that does add to your already good mileage......

Everything is a 3.14% increase/improvement in MPG's, windshield wiper removal, mud flap instillation, front license plate remove or install I forget which, rear spoiler removal, rear wiper removal, shark fin antenna installation, eye bolt & j-bolt installation, special 3M synthetic shuttle heat tile polishing compound....now removing badges. The hits just keep on coming.

I hear music playing again> CMT : Videos : Brad Paisley : Online

If you notice the car in the video is debadged and has the rear wiper delete mod.

I was thinking about rrolf's claims and I have decided to be skeptical. Toyota published an interesting book in pdf some years ago that outlined the tremendous efforts they went to in shaving off a percent fuel consumption in multiple places. There is just no way they would have passed up 3% savings if all it took was a shark-fin antenna instead of the stock variety. Same argument goes for some of the other mods that rrolf has posted.

It sure is interesting how threads get morphed!!!!

Since my thread has gone down this road..........

How about they type of wax you use to cut down on the wind that gets dragged across the surface of the car?

Two coats makes it lickedy slick!

First post I, too would like to debadge my 2011. It doesn't matter why, I just do. I'm really not interested in anyone's opinion whether they like it or not. I am interested in knowing, for sure, from experience, which badges on the 2011 can be safely removed without leaving holes. Can someone with personal experience weigh in? Thanks.

    Hey guys,

For those who debadged your Prius, if you have no use for your "Prius" emblem, I'd like to buy it from you for a few bucks. PM me. Thanks.

Debadging lowers the trade in value of your car. If you look at most major dealers lots you'll be hard pressed to find a debadged car on the frontline, likewise, heavily modified or raised 4x's. I see them at the auction all of the time, dealers don't want the liability on the 4x's and the debadged cars appeal to a very small crowd.

Doesn't look bad but I'd put them back on before going to trade it in.
