My '06 reached 100K last month. I owned an '04, which reached 100K (as I was a sales rep for a natural body care company and drove a tremendous amount). Not a single issue with either, aside from brake pad replacement and regular maintenance. I was researching selling it or trading it in, as I still owe $8K on it, and am concerned about the battery, but the more I research, the more stories I hear of this gen. of Prius lasting well past 200K. I'd love to keep it, as I couldn't afford a new model. I'll be checking this forum for maintenance tips.
2008 with 160K. 98% of it is a 200 mile round trip to the office and back. Currently showing 46.5 mpg. That's down from 49.7 in the summer. Still running on the original battery. Love the little car even though it's a DEER MAGNET!!! I hit a little one 6 months after I got it and you have to look hard to find the dents. 2 of them right next to the emblem on the hood. The other 4 have hit me!! Only had 1 that needed repaired. Just in front of the drivers door under the A pillar. It made a nice crease in the panel. The other 3 either left a little dent or a scratch. I've had 3 hit me in the last 6 months and 1 was just last night! LMAO!! DEER MAGNET!!! I'm going to get some stickers for the window so I can keep track. lol
An update from my posts #359 & #360. 155,000 miles I had my hybrid battery replaced with a used pack from a 2007 with 67,000 mls through a Boulder EV conversion shop and a salvage yard that rebuilds battery packs for Gen I packs using the cells from wrecked Gen II packs. This is what can be done to recycle and keep Gen II batteries from sitting on a shelf and not being used. anyway my total cost was $684.00 installed. I replaced it cause it was easier than having the original pack diagnosed and replacing some bad cells. Besides the salvage Pack comes with a computer attached and being a 2007 it may have built in improvements over the 2004. Was getting avg.43mpg / now 49mpg:rockon:
I have a 2005 that has 122k miles on it. I've not had to replace any battery (not sure what the 'traction battery' is) and it runs & drives beautifully. I do have a 125kmi extended warranty on it, thankfully haven't had to use it. I bought it in June of 2009, am the second owner, and couldn't be more pleased with the car. Matter of fact, I listed it for sale here yesterday because I'm buying another one
Just to add to the numbers...... 2005 with 160K and going strong. No signs of battery trouble and still getting 42-45 mpg average.
Joining the club: 2005 Prius (package #6, leather, smart entry, Navigation, premium stereo, etc) 2009 - bought it with 88,900K 2011 - today has 120,500K (daily driver, roughly 50k per day, no issues, still runs all original, even Michelin tires still have 30-40% left) Did all the maintenance as recommended on this site and it runs even smoother. I hope to join 300K club in a few years P.S. Almost forgot: my average mpg is 47-50. I often get 49mpg after 475k (full tank) before I refuel. At times, I drive more aggressively and get only 47mpg (and get really upset though it's still 2x of my HiHY with 25-27mpg). Love the car.
Your post is written in such a way so as to make it unclear that you are talking about the same car throughout. The 2005 Prius did not come stock with Michelin tires yet the post implies that you are still running the stock tires after 120,500 miles. You also state that you drive 50,000 miles per day. Unless you mean klicks (approx. 31 miles then). Are you ex military? If you can edit the post it may be more informative to others.
Same car, 2005 bought in 2009 still runs on the same tires as bought, Michelin 185/65R15 PRIMACY after 50miles r/t per day. Is that better? You must an ex-editor or something. Move on to other threads if you don't have any specific questions, lol.

OK, been a while since I have been here. Here is my story. 186,500 miles rapidly headed to 200K club! I use my Black 2006 daily, average is 48+ MPG. Mostly highway, original brakes, just replaced the 12VDC battery yesterday, third set of tires. Had only one issue with the headlights, went through 8 of them!!!!! Actually carry a spare in the glove box but that has been for over a year now. Fox Lake (IL) Toyota finally found and fixed the issue. Went through 4 tail lights. Will I buy another Prius, yes, when this one fails, until that time.. I am thinking of what I will post on the 200,000 mile club. Frank in Antioch, Illinois, the "Gateway to the Chain of Lakes".
After much research on priuschat my wife and I just picked up an 06 with 123k miles. Will report back when I can with updated numbers. :rockon:
2004 Prius with 145,000. Own it since 2007 when it had 25,000. My biggest problem seems to be front wheel bearings. Had left replaced under warranty. Right one replaced myself about a year ago, and now it's time to replace left one again. Everything else is original, except HID bulbs and HID leveling sensor which was also replaced under warranty. Brakes and both batteries are still good. Love this car.
New to PriusChat today. Bought my first Prius new in March of 2004, which now has 130K on it. Replaced defective LCD screen early on during first year, warrenteed. Running on 3rd set of tires. Have stayed with the Integrities, but would consider changing if anyone has a recommendation that wouldn't hurt MPGs too much. Replaced both headlights and one tail light. And that's it for repairs, couldn't ask for more out of a car that has spent most of it's time driving in and out of NYC's pothole pocked roads. We bought a second Prius in June of 2008 so my wife can enjoy the experience as well. Just turned 30K on that one as she is a local commuter less than 4 miles to work.
Any of several true LRR tire models would give a better ride and more traction while increasing MPG 2-4% over the Goodyear Integrity tires. If you live in snow country, my favorite is the Nokian WRg2 (A 50k mile tire, great in ice/snow, about $550 for 4 185/65Hr15s). I have 194k virtually trouble free miles on my 2004 Prius. JeffD
2xpriusguy I went with Goodyear Assurance Fuel Max and I am very impressed. Very smooth and great FE. I run the max cold setting of 51 lbs. and man do they roll! My FE makes me shake my head. I have the same tires on my 2006 HCH2 and the other day at 40 deg. I traveled 70 miles and parked at 75 mpg! I contribute 15 mpg of that to those tires! For what its worth, Hal
