Hello. About a week and a half ago, we purchased a blue 2011 Prius Four from our local Asheville, North Carolina Toyota dealer. Found this forum last night and joined this afternoon. Making this post as a test to make sure I am properly registered. I was happy to find this forum, as this is our first Prius and I'm sure we will have a LOT of questions. A couple of quick observations: 1. Our Prius is delivering excellent fuel mileage, as advertised, even though we live in a pretty hilly area (49.2 mpg on the first tank and 51.1 mpg on the second tank - mostly small town driving). 2. Prii are an endangered species here in Western North Carolina caused, I suspect by the events in the Middle East. Dealer stocks are almost totally depleted and the advertised internet price we paid has gone up $1500 for an identical vehicle in just a week and a half. Looking forward to learning a lot from Prius Forum veterans!
:welcome: Welcome! You will notice your averages moving up slightly in the coming weeks, as the Prius teaches you to be more efficient. You will see that the supply of Prii on dealer lots, and the price they are willing to sell them for will change as Crude oil continues to rally.
Yeah great mileage! whats nice is you don't even have to try. We get high 40s and my wife uses PWR mode all the time? Yes it's sad I think we will see sticker prices on these cars if oil keeps going up and up! Glad I got mine. Many happy owners here Priuschat is a better place! Enjoy the ride.
