FYI - one of my license plate LEDs from superbrightleds.com burnt out after less than 3 weeks in my Gen II. I replaced it immediately with one of my map lights and I am currently working with them to send me the replacement under the year warranty. I will keep you all updated...

I read here that the room light and trunk light should be a 30mm / 31mm festoon bulb. Any of you find that it is quite a bit larger than the original and quite a tight fit? Should I buy a smaller size or just squeeze it in?

You're not alone. I bought a 31mm 6-LED festoon from eBay and had the exact same problem you have. I eventually just used all my force to squeeze the festoon bulb in between the clips. When I was bending the clips back, I was afraid I was going to snap them off. In fact, the clips are so bent back that my bulb is actually crooked because that's the only angle that the bulb can fit and make contact to the metal. I'm pretty sure that my clips are so stretched now that I can't fit the regular (smaller) bulb back in there.

The 31mm manufacturers advertise is more like 35mm and the few mm makes quite a difference. But it is possible to squeeze the clips to get the bulb into position without breaking the clips.

I don't think you should run into any problems with their return policy. I had one that burned out as well within 6 weeks of purchase, and SBL exchanged it without hassle as long as I provided them with the original sales invoice.

It's a tight fit (in fact, I think it's a tad too big). Both the rear dome (room light) and the trunk light have bent clips as a result. Hopefully they don't keep their shape when they blow and I decide to use the original bulbs but I'm not holding my breath.

The Ebay 31mm or 30mm Festoon bulbs almost feel way too big to fit in the original space. I think the original bulb is 25mm or less! I did measure my aftermarket led bulb and it is 31mm. The original bulb is much smaller than 30mm.

Thank you all for the input, will try squeezing it in tonight.

I just got the good news email that my burnt bulb exchange from superbrightleds.com has shipped out to me. So in case any of you were wondering how they do on warranty/exchanges: they do a good job.

And in case any of you are wondering if you can actually return LED bulbs in a plain letter envelope with a 44 cent stamp: you can.

You could refer to post #100... or just see below:

For the footwell lights and glovebox light, you need to order from parts.com. The parts are based on a 2006 Lexus IS250. The part number is 81080-22040. They are approximately $11/piece.

I have purchased many LED's from superbrightleds . com also and besides the fact that they are so expensive to this day everyone one of them have burned out and I'm not the only one, when i tried to tell them the leds are burning out one by one they tried to blame operator misuse, I for one will never buy from them again unless they lower the prices and see some good feedback on the net.

How long did it take for the bulbs to burn out? Was this on a Prius?

How do you like the WLED-WHP5 for the parking light so far? I was thinking to get Phillip blue vision but after saw your picutre. WLED is much more white than Phillip. But in real life, does the WLED-WHP5 shown any blue tint color? The picture shown some blue tint color which I hate it. I only want to get pure white color.

    Thanks.

Are you able to show us what the T10 bulbs look like so I can order the right ones. I have cheapy blue ones in now, but love how bright they look at least in your pics. There are so many types on eBay.

One thing I've noticed is that FEINT's JDM Prius doesn't have the side marker lights, just the forward facing ones that he replaced with LEDs. In NA, we have to parking lights (the forward facing one in white and the side one in amber).

Love the bulbs, no troubles. As for color, there is a slight blueish tint like all cool white lighting, but imo, the camera pics up on it more than the eye does when seen in person.
