In no particular order. 1. The new Gen III owners who hate the Gen II and refused to ever buy one. 2. The newbs who take hate threads and trolls seriously. 3. How people ignore and don't respond to a legitimate help thread, but readily respond to the 100th thread on "Volt sucks," to make it 10+ pages. 4. Oppositely, how people start threads, get replies, but are never heard from again. 5. The political correctness. 6. The disinterest in modifications. I seriously get more help and input from Club Lexus in 1 hour, than I do from Priuschat in a month. 7. The store. It's outdated and overpriced. 8. The boring, repetitive threads. 9. How people get "thanked" for the stupidest, flippant sh*t I don't care to read. Now, to all of the other people who have contributed to PriusChat with their help, opinions, and suggestions, I say thank you. You know who you are.
on your point about modifications..... i think there's lower interest because it's not seen as a modifiable car. Lord knows I'm not gonna mess with anything. My Jeep, on the other hand, is totally modifiable and the forum i visit has what has to be a million threads on mods as well as reviews of about every product out there. it's just a different animal.
I think this has more to do with the demographics of PriusChat than anything else. This is especially true of the modifications: a lot of the modification threads are permeated by the whole "old people acting old" thing (it's been noted in a few of the threads). I hate the persistent belief that the Prius and Toyota are the end all be all of hybrids (which I suppose is related to your complaint about piling on the Volt/Leaf/anything-not-toyota-Prius hate threads)
You keep encouraging civil disorder you're gonna get banned again. Didn't you know that PC stands for political correctness and not Prius Chat. I like the mod threads but personally am more into low cost mods.
I have a scangauge, aluminum brace, various interior plastic pieces to make it more pleasant, Grill block, USB and 120V charger, etc. to make my Prius more useful to me. What I do not have are snake oil HP improvers, a stereo that can be heard in Laos, chrome fart pipes, bling wheels, and blinding lights designed to impair other humans. I suspect it depends on what mods you are hoping for. I am happy to link Sigma, but I have little personal experience with the 'show' parts. Hey I just added another mod this week - should I post pics so you can all drool? Rockin' front and rear chrome license plate covers.
I'd categorize this post as uninteresting and unproductive. If you let the things on your list bother you enough to post about, well forgive me, but therein lies the issue.
I hate people signing up and acting all fake then trying to market some product! Wait, am I in the right thread? GenII FTMFW!
I've found that dalmatian spots work rather well as an ice breaker ...but, it's usually guys that talk to me. Just sayin'
