That is the general consensus in the Mustang/Camaro/Corvette/LS1 Truck crowd as well. :)

The 14HP was not from the turbo and would be very difficult to quantify in terms of top speed. 14HP is not enough power to do much of anything in something other than a lawnmower or garbage disposal. :)

Mustangs read close to the conventional truth. Because of the amount of control the operator has over them he can run standard SAE tests.

Dynojets read high (but with consistent results) and can only be used while accelerating the engine.

Both are very good dynos when used as intended

150 rear wheel hp is impressive, I can't wait until he gets the turbo on it.

I thought they were under rated. I just switched from a 100 flywheel hp VW TDI that weighs close to the same as a Prius. The Prius feels quicker than the TDI

14 hp is a 10% power increase, that's not small. Top speed increase (even ungoverned) would be small though, about 3 mph by the numbers. The 160hp corrected is also rear wheel horsepower which is 10-15% less than flywheel horsepower which is where the factory rating it. So if his numbers are correct, he is getting something like 175+ hp out of the powertrain. That does make me wonder a bit about the Mustang calibration.

This thread is wild. Also the dyno results are very interesting. I wonder if the numbers are some side effect of the Prius drivetrain on the dyno?

150hp to 98hp on the Gen II? The Gen II doesn't feel that much slower.

xs650 owns a late model Corvette so, like me, he is used to writing rwhp and not fwhp. lol

Well we are talking imports here so you can just add them together to find net HP. Just like adding HP gains advertised by performance parts manufactures. 20hp from a K&N cold-air intake, 30hp from GReddy exhaust, 10hp for the throttle-body spacer and Fernco coupler, 6hp from !MAF and TB coolant bypass, etc. etc. :p

Don't forget the NOS sticker and the GT-R badge that add 20hp each.

Some of us are used to saying AWHP....just saying...
