Well I did it, moved Prius out of garage to drive, working on other car when Prius engine starts up runs a bit then stops. LOL You should have seen the look on my wife's face, she just kept looking a me for a reason it would do that. We are still learning a lot about the Prius and she thought it may be normal. I started to tell her some high tech lie but decided to fess up and admit I had forgot to push the off button. P.S. I still cant get used to driving a car that gets over 40 mpg when driving it like a normal car. Prius has been all I have expected and more.
Whoops! I misread your post the first time around. I originally posted this: The Prius normally fires up the ICE to warm it up and the catalyst. However, it could potentially shut back down fairly quickly once something reach the proper temp. See http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...-discussion/76501-gen3-warming-up-stages.html. If you had something like a ScanGauge, you could monitor the ignition timing and coolant temp.
What's really funny about your post is that I've done it too. But for me, I'm sitting in the car thinking I've turned it off and try to get out. It's way to shocking when the car starts rolling forward and I can't figure out why? LOL
LOL, thanks for the smile this morning. I also had a few "close encounters of the Prius kind" when mine was new. Enjoy.
Sounds like the car is still quite new to you and you are already getting over 40 mpg. When the weather warms up and the car is a bit more broken in, you'll be even more pleased when you see your first 60 mpg tank.
