Jesse's Prius made it to 349,531 miles before it was hit by another car. There is no picture showing that but the last capture shot was taken at 342,000.

If you get to 350k miles, I think you will hold the record!

Update 315000 In regards to 8 ounces at 3100, using the new 14477 purolator filter which is an inch longer, my miles went to 4200, which is a nice improvement for me. I will definitely keep u guys updated on my next oil change, in about a week. Hopefully I could reach 350000 or maybe 400000, or keep it until the 2012 V comes out, anyway stay safe.

So are you saying the new (and longer) oil filter reduces oil consumption between oil changes? Interesting...

I'd say that is just random variations due to temperature, driving conditions, initial fill volume etc. A bigger oil filter shouldn't have any meaningful impact on oil consumption. It does slightly increase the oil capacity so theoretically the oil should contaminate slightly more slowly (as the contaminants have more oil to dilute into) but I don't think that would translate to anything significant in the oil consumption.

Thanks for posting the video, is there a contact I could call or does anyone know for sure what is the highest recorded mileage. I guess the higher I go the less the car will be worth, dont know if i should look to trade or stay. Im looking forward to the 2012 prius V but the mpg is down vs the 2010. Guess im just happy and depressed at the same time. Update 317000.

I don't know of any contact. Perhaps send a question to PriusTeam.

There is a 2005 Prius taxi in Canada that just reached 1 million km (620k miles). That's the highest that I have ever heard of.

You probably have the highest in the US and it is a 2009 model! I would say keep going and save money. There is nothing wrong with it (just oil consumption) right?

If 620000 is true I might as well trade it in, thats another 3 years of hard work, dont know if the body can go another 3 years doing what I do. Driving that many miles puts alot of wear and tear on the body. An also was that mileage on original battery, I guess thats my concern not on just the car itself. My goal is highest mileage on original hybrid battery. For what its worth the prius has definitely been proven longevity, and again I was trying to prove would mileage have an effect, but I would imagine not to many people out there will ever reach 300000 so for WHAT IT IS WORTH THE PRIUS HANDS DOWN IN MY BOOK HAS PROVEN ITSELF. BUT FOR THE SAKE OF MY CURIOSITY I WILL TRY FOR 400000, GIVE ME ABOUT 6 TO 7 MONTHS.

Yeah, what kills batteries is cycling, so stop and go traffic draining to 2 bars and then back up to six is porbably worst. If you get in and drive hundreds of miles a day you must be going steady speeds on highways, which doesn't cycle the battery. it'll last a LONG time under those conditions.

You do know you can get a rebuilt battery pack for ~$1500 or so?

Wow... Who would even consider buying a new battery to put in a car that already has 700 Mm on it. It must have still been in really good shape otherwise too.

Very cool that they got it up to 1 Gm !

Well at least now I can look forward to having my Prius longer. Hopefully it lives that long like yours. Mine is at a little over 236k right now. Good luck. I read every page of this thread and it was really interesting!

You probably have the highest miles for 2006. I can't wait to find out if 2006 has the 299,999 mile limitation on the ODO. My bet is, it doesn't.

That's a worthy goal! That will prove that highway miles are easier on the HV battery than the "Taxi" (mostly city?) miles.

I got an answer from Berlin City today about the odometer questions. Both the 04 and the 05 Prius models are affected, according to them. There are 3 different part numbers for this part, one for 04, one for 05 and one for 06-09. None are interchangeable. My parts guy also asked if the odometer could be reset and was told no. So, I will have to bite the kinda big bullet and spend about 7-800 replacing the unit. It includes the odometer, speedometer, and I think gas gauge and shift icons. I didn't get any real answer as to why the 01-03 odometer goes over 300k, but the next 2 years don't. Maybe it's gremlins, lol.
