ok i finally took delivery of my Leaf. its pretty cool!!

just a few pics here real quick. to be honest with ya, got home late last night. first Leaf in WA and they had no idea what they were doing so it took 3 hours at the dealership. worked 11 hours today so tomorrow i will actually have a chance to see it in the daylight.

but just a few pics of course the first one being the pickup at the dealer with Ryland

next is charging. notice the short cord after the power box? weird huh and it seems to be the standard

lastly is this morning while parking at work (forgive pic its a cellie shot at 5:45 am so its pretty fricking dark) but those yellow lines in the picture are guidance lines to help you back in straight... pretty cool eh?

    much more to follow

Awesome. A red letter day/time in human history to actually have EV's coming out to for real, and to stay. Every day I wish my Prius would stay in EV mode forever :)

ya, i will miss the smart door system. have to use Fob to unlock door, but it does have the ability to turn off traction control and Bob Wilson will be glad to know that the "pedestrian warning squeal (or whatever you want to call it) can be turned off as well.

**edit** just found out i can open door without pushing key fob. there is a button on the door. u push it to unlock. so the opposite of the Prius

How are you liking it so far? Can't wait till I get mine, though at this rate it's looking more like April or May for me now with the current rate of deliveries...

well one thing i can say, its a different car than a Prius. the seats and interior are made from post consumer plastic (ya, you are sitting on a water bottle!!) so its very "plasticy" interior, but seats are comfortable

the heater is anemic and for some reason, the car has to be driven a period before it warms up just like any other car. but it can be preheated if you want so that is good.

the ride is rock solid. i have 4 roundabouts on my daily commute and flying thru them is effortless. the steering ratio is much better than my Gen 3 (like which car isnt?)

there is no rattles, etc. but then again, have not had the chance to clutter things up.

there is a temp gauge for battery so i dont have to worry about that...Carwings is cool (although its still not working for me but others had issues for first few days)

but that is the initial report, but so far so good, and i still have that "smugness" glow going strong. i think that will last a while!

What? Danged Leaf drivers out-smugging Prius drivers? Better be careful lest you will have a South Park episode made about you.

You should ban him. We shouldn't have to be subjected to his smugness.

Can I have a pic request? Can you take one of the inside of the trunk/rear hatch so I can see how big it is? Cheers

Trunk space as above with something to measure it against (newspaper, ipod etc) and a pic of the rear seats and rear footwell/leg room.

    Thanks :)

Well, that's something you don't have to do with a Prius. How often does the Leaf need a dental checkup, and how much does it cost?

See the attached Leaf Maintenance Schedule. There is no dental checkup for the Leaf :D It looks very clean.

Brake fluid change every 30k miles?!! They have to find something to make you come to the dealership. I think you can skip those.

    Congratulations!
Have any Chevy Volts made it into the hands of consumers yet?

That looks like fun. Enjoy! The yellow lines are a *really* good idea.

I'm looking forward to hearing charger efficiency data.
