Hey, just joining the forum, I'm new here from Portland, OR. I've always been interested in the Prius although I don't own one yet, mostly here to gain knowledge and perspective through current Prius owners eyes. How do you all enjoy your Toyota Prius'? Is the mileage really as good as they say? And are the safety concerns warranted/frequent enough to consider not buying a Prius? Actually, I ask because I was recently involved in a Prius accident when I was taking my child to school, as a Prius accelerated out of control as we were in the middle of the crosswalk (Blessing in disguise, as Toyota has promised a large out of court settlement). Luckily, we escaped with only minor injuries. Me, with only a cut on my knee and a few bruises in various spots, and my daughter, with only a broken collarbone (kids heal fast). Don't get me wrong, I am a bit of a thrill seeker as well (I ride a honda spree on my commute :rockon but I am a bit worried about the safety factor. Anyways, would love to hear all about your Prius experiences, and I'm glad to be a member of the forum!:cheer2:
Hmm accelerated out of control at a crosswalk. Sorry don't believe it. I think I will go to a Mustang forum and talk about checking on buying a Mustang but disucssing the 15 yr old who drove his GT into a tree last week due to excessive acceleration with 2 underage friends in the car (sorry meant to say unintended application of gas pedal). By the way true story about kid hitting the tree
