I saw two older posts regarding no dash board lights. It is super cold here as in minus 3 degrees. Somewhat unusual for Kansas. When I started my car I had no dash board instrument lights but the MPG monitor does work. Also when I tried to shut down the power button wouldnt turn the car off and consequently the key would not release. I took it to Toyota and he told my I had the dimmer turned down(I had already tried turning it several times) to the off position. He put a new battery in the key remote and things seemed to work fine. This morning it was another sub-zero day and the same problems happened all over again. This time they diagnosed a sealed junction box on the driver side that has poor connections that seem fail due to the cold weather that needs to be replaced. This will cost me $932 parts and labor. YIKES!! He says that inside their shop it is all working just fine since my car is in there where it's all nice and warm. It will all start all over again when it sits over night in the cold.
I think that your car needs a new combination meter ECU (this is the speedometer/odometer/fuel gauge/warning lights board.) See: http://priuschat.com/forums/toyota-...9-combination-meter-intermittent-display.html
Hi I also have same problem before, I see all posts n I change my car battery also but problem was still there but I feel that after unlocking car if I was opening right side door then dash lights was staying on but when I was opening driver side door first then dash board lights went off then I change the LEFT SIDE DOOR LIGHT SWITCH after changing the door light switch everything is good so far so you also check your doors first that from which door opening your dash board light went off then change that door light switch, I hope it will help you. Thanks
