Gasoline only?

    Is there anyway to set the computer to use the gasoline engine only for a short distance or is it too complicated with the electric side? Trying to save a tow from dealership of dead main battery/car.

    I agree with Bisco, but...

    No, MG1 needs to be operating or the torque split device won't allow any torque from the ICE will get through the transmission. The ICE would just spin the MG1 with nothing going to the transmission output.

    For a far out what-if.....

    IF, you locked MG1 so it couldn't turn, reprogrammed the control system so the engine would run under that circumstance and added an operable clutch to the power train you could drive it like an economy car locked in 4th gear.
