The drivers side headlight assembly on my 2008 Prius has moisture in it. I have 52,000 miles on the car, so I do not think it is covered under warranty. What / how can you replace the headlight assembly?

Unplug it, unscrew it, remove it, have the replacement handy, from Salvage, Internet Purchase, or direct from Toyota. Just make sure you purchase the same headlght assy as HID and Halogen are different units. Reverse disassembly, you are good to go. Oh BTW, save or reuse the old bulbs!
I realise that this sounds oversimplfied, it actually is not!!

Thanks for the feedback. One question - some of the posts I have found on the internet say you have to remove the bumper and the liner inside the wheel well to get to the screws to remove it. Is that the case or are the screws accessible without removing those other items?

You will need to partially remove the bumper cover so that you can access one screw that is hidden by the cover.

No need to replace it Take Bumper off and unscrew the few screws that hold it in and pull it off.. Once you have that done.. Take out bulbs.(don't touch lenses) with fingers.. use gloves

Then heat the seals up around the unit and pull it apart.. Dry it out with a dryer and re glue and re seal so moisture doesn't get in. Bam.. Done

HID for sure. Because the housing holds the Ballast and a small motor. And for info I ordered the parts from autowarehouse and they sent me hallogen housing and bulb.
