Hey, people I am going to have my about 50% of my car painted due to a accident and I would like to know if there is anything special about the paint on a black 07. I have heard lots of things like there is no clear coat and so on. I would like to know if there is anything special that I should tell my collision center before they go to town? Thanks
I have no idea. But obviously the things you wanna make sure is that; - The color matches, preferably with Toyota's OEM paint code - Their work is guaranteed and they promise to fix any mistakes - They've had good customer reviews This should help cancel out whether or not there is anything special about the black paint. Take pictures when it's done and show us!
I don't know about the Gen II, but there is clear coat on black Gen III. In any case, according to http://www.toyotapart.com/EXTERIOR_COLOR_AND_SCRATCH_RESISTANT_AND_ANTI-ACID_PAINT_TS-PA003-07.pdf it is recommended that a clear coat be used when refinishing black 202 on your 07 Prius.
cool thanks guys I will make sure they blend it very well. It also has a lifetime warantee cause its a perfered shop
