Why are color choices so weak in the 2010?

Very few manufacturers offer many (if any) bright colors anymore. I was really excited about the blue ribbon metallic and am really happy with it.

Best color palette I've found is Porsche. Choose your color - 911 Carrera - All 911 Models - Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG

 

Good memory. Winter Grey actually does have a little sparkle. I kinda like the color except I wouldn't get it because it absorbs more heat.

Was at Toyota.... again this morning, it's sunny. Put hand on black car, warm, grey, warm ....

silver ... tiny,slightest bit of warmth, white, no warmth, no absorption of rays.

 

Little off topic ...

I'm ok with the colors, it's the 15" wheels I'm balking at ....

I stand back and look at the car overall. I know fuel economy is everything with Prius, but it just doesn't look 'finished' with the 15's with or without covers. Yeah, there's the V, but that's harsh price for one who'd be cool with a III w/nav only.

Not to be a Honda fanboy, but look at an Insight EX .. it's looks balanced from body to wheels. Civic LX or EX, balanced up and down.

Honestly, if the Insight had the HP, size and HSD equivalent, I'd buy it. In my eye, it is a better looking car in a walk around. But, I won't buy its shortcomings.

The 15" tires are 634mm diameter according to my calcs.

205/55-16" tires are 632mm which is closer to above than the 17's which are 625mm.

Kinda stinks they can't or won't option some decent 16's on threes and fours.

I see 16's on Corolla S models.

Easiest solution for you: III with Nav in Silver and aftermarket or Gen II 16" wheels

 

This time I lucked out and got a Winter Grey for a rental - nice, bold neutral color. It's a lot nicer when you're driving it



Does anyone have a Winter Grey in fairly warm weather, like lots of 90s F in Summer? And how's that working out?

I think I prefer Grey over Silver because I like neutral colors, it's bold, and the body contrasts with the wheels more. I took the hubcaps off to check fuel economy and get a good look at them tomorrow daytime.

btw, I may be joining in 3rd Gen ownership in not too distant future (I know what you're thinking ... oh gawd noo!)

I'm on final config of Frankystein gen2 seat and the front edge rounds down offering little thigh support. It's primarily the gen2 seat bottom contour that kills the seat.
I'm finished, not going to risk another expensive seat that may not work anyway. We'll see how a private sale goes, yikes.
3rd Gen seat feels just right to me - good thigh support.

 

If you don't want any of the drawbacks associated with having a black car, don't get Winter Gray or Blue Ribbon Metallic.

 

Drawbacks like shows surface imperfections more easily, scratches, or feels warmer in cabin than light cars? I've heard, don't get a black or dark car in Phoenix, Florida, etc...

I would probably go with Silver and dark gray interior and remove the plastic hubcaps to help the 15's out. So far, not seeing a decrease in economy with hubcaps off.

 

Both. WGM owners like PriusRos can tell you it's a high-maintenance color and you've observed yourself that it's warm to the touch like a black car. Compared to white and silver, it's dark enough to have an effect on cabin temperature.
